Yao Tianqin and his wife never expected that after failing to find the person who drugged Ah Yu, another person emerged, this time drugging their own son and daughter-in-law.
Could it be that the drugging was not targeted at Ah Yu alone but the entire Yao family?
Yao Hong and Yao An exchanged a glance, both showing shock on their faces.
What's going on? This wasn't part of their plan.
Madam Yao steadied herself and asked Cai'er, "You said someone was caught in the act. Who was it?"
Cai'er hesitated, her gaze drifting toward Yao An and Yao Hong.
Yao Hong was already feeling guilty, and Cai'er's look only fueled her anger. "What are you looking at me for? Do you think I'm the one who drugged them?"
She said so, but deep down, she wasn't entirely sure.
The maid who did the drugging was not present at the moment, and they didn't know where she had gone. Could it be that she had a change of heart and ran to their cousin's room?
She couldn't help but look at Yao An, who maintained a stern expression, but even he felt a sense of anxiety.
Fortunately, Cai'er denied Yao Hong's involvement. "No, it wasn't Miss Yao who drugged them. But the person who did it was Miss Wang."
"What?" Yao Hong doubted her own ears.
"It was Miss Wang."
Yao Hong shook her head, "It's impossible."
Cai'er felt wronged. The Young Master had caught the person red-handed, so how could it be impossible?
Madam Yao looked around, frowning, "Yes, with everyone here like this, only Miss Wang is absent. It seems she went to drug them."
With a stern expression, she said, "Let's go and check. I want to know what the Miss Wang wants to achieve."
After that, she turned to look at Shu Yu, who stood up and said, "I should be fine now. Let's go; I also want to see if the medicine in my tea was from her."
Madam Yao had the maids support Shu Yu, and the group walked toward Yao Bo's courtyard.
Yao An and Yao Hong walked at the back, speaking in hushed voices, "What's going on? How could Jiayi go and drug them? Could there be some misunderstanding?"
"I don't know," Yao An replied and suddenly seemed to recall something, his steps pausing.
"What's wrong?"
Yao An whispered, "When I took out the medicine from my purse earlier, I felt like there was slightly less of it. Could it be..."
Yao Hong widened her eyes, "No way?"
Both of them had a bad feeling about this.
As they were discussing, they arrived at Yao Bo's courtyard.
As soon as they entered, they heard Wang Jiayi's crying and pleading.
Yao Tianqin hurriedly walked up to Yao Bo when he saw her sitting on the ground, pointing to the medicine pouch on the table, "Just now, when I came back to get my cloak, I heard some noise inside the room, so I sneaked in quietly. Unexpectedly, I caught her with this medicine pouch, pouring the powder inside into our teapot. I caught her red-handed, but she still denies it."
Yao Tianqin turned to look at Wang Jiayi, who cowered and kept crying, without saying a word.
Madam Yao became furious, "Stop crying. Tell me, what did you drug my son and daughter-in-law with? What are you planning to do?"
Wang Jiayi kept her head down, refusing to speak.
Madam Yao was getting angry, and Yao Tianqin pursed his lips, "Since you won't talk, then we'll just hand you over to the authorities."
He called for the steward, "Go to the Jinxiaoyin yamen and report this. Tell them that someone drugged my son, attempting to harm them for personal gain."
"Yes."
