Meng Yunzheng held her hand tightly as they walked, nodding his head while whispering, "Yes, we'll move it. After my father arrives in the capital, we'll discuss the time to start the process."
Meng Yunzheng didn't reveal the news about Gong Qiu's beheading to Meng Pei.
However, with the incident making such a big impact and being the talk of the town for almost a month, there were definitely spies from Meng Pei's side in the capital who must have received the news and were likely rushing over.
If his predictions were correct, Meng Pei should arrive in a few days.
"Where are you planning to move it?" Shu Yu asked.
Meng Yunzheng thought for a moment and said, "Actually, my mother liked Tianning County very much. We lived there for ten years, and it was her home. But moving to Tianning County would be too lonely. Now that the emperor has publicly recognized my mother's identity as the daughter-in-law of the Meng family, we should move her to the Meng family ancestral grave."
The specific location would have to be discussed after his father arrived in the capital.
However, when Tianning County was mentioned, Shu Yu thought of the deranged old beggar she had encountered.
She had never mentioned this matter because he was imprisoned when she first arrived in the capital and was dealing with the weight of Gong Qiu's matters. Later, after spending over half a month at the Supreme Court, she finally had time, but Meng Yunzheng was still tightly focused on when Gong Qiu would be beheaded, fearing some unexpected occurrence.
With him so urgently focused on that, Shu Yu's attention was also entirely on Gong Qiu, and she hadn't thought about Yan Bo for a while.
But now that everything had been settled, Shu Yu suddenly slapped her forehead and said to Meng Yunzheng, "Oh, I forgot to tell you something."
"What is it?" he asked.
"I and Ying Xi didn't come by land; we took a boat here. At that time, the closest port was Huajiang Prefecture, so we took a boat from there."
Huajiang Prefecture?
Tianning County was under Huajiang Prefecture.
Meng Yunzheng paused for a moment, and then he seemed to realize something, asking in surprise, "Have you been to Tianning County?"
Shu Yu nodded. "When we first arrived at Huajiang Prefecture, there were no suitable boats at the port, and Ying Xi wanted to visit her father, so we went to Tianning County for a while. Then, I went to the front of Quansheng Escort Agency."
"You..." Meng Yunzheng was astonished. Tianning County was the place where he had grown up since he was a child, and to avoid attracting Gong Qiu's attention, he hadn't returned there for over a decade.
He couldn't help but ask, "Is Quansheng Escort Agency still there?"
"It is, but half of the courtyard was burned down and has not been repaired since. Not only is Quansheng Escort Agency still there, but for all these years, there has been a man guarding it in front of the agency. That man used to be a gatekeeper at Quansheng Escort Agency. Ying Xi said his name is Yan Bo."
Meng Yunzheng suddenly stopped in his tracks, his voice changed with shock, "You mean, Yan Bo has been in Tianning County, in front of the escort agency?"
"Yes." Shu Yu recounted the situation at that time and then added in a low voice, "In the restaurant opposite the escort agency, someone has been secretly keeping an eye on him. I didn't dare to have much communication with Yan Bo, let alone tell him any news about you. So, I don't know whether he's truly gone mad or pretending to be, confusing others."
Upon hearing the news about Yan Bo, Meng Yunzheng felt a little excited. But when he heard that Yan Bo had gone mad, his eyebrows furrowed tightly.
After taking a deep breath, Meng Yunzheng said, "Once my father arrives, we'll leave the capital as soon as possible and go find Yan Bo."
"Okay."
The two of them quickly descended the mountain and returned home in a carriage.
However, at the entrance of their southern courtyard, there was already a carriage parked.
