Having settled into the third floor, the room was indeed much quieter. The location was excellent, offering a view of the scenery outside through the open windows. The gentle breeze carried the fragrance of flowers, making it incredibly comfortable.
With such a spacious, bright, and refreshing room, Shu Yu no longer needed to go to the deck to enjoy the breeze. She spent most of her time inside, reading books, taking occasional naps, and pondering family matters while thinking about how to meet Meng Yunzheng after arriving in the capital.
As for the young master Yao on the second floor, she wasn't sure if he had heard Ying Xi's words that day and understood that he had misunderstood. Ever since Shu Yu moved to the third floor, he hadn't appeared again.
Occasionally, the ship would dock at the pier to unload or load cargo, and Shu Yu would take Ying Xi along to take a walk and buy some things. Of course, she also checked on Dabai from time to time, fearing that it might not be adapting well to life on the ship. Fortunately, Dabai was adaptable and in good spirits.
Despite this, she hadn't seen the young master Yao again, and she didn't know if he had already disembarked.
One advantage of traveling by ship was not having to worry about finding accommodation at night, but it was indeed quite exhausting. After staying onboard for so many days, it had taken a toll on her.
Just when Shu Yu was about to reach her limit, the ship finally arrived in the capital.
As the lively shouts of the crew came from downstairs, Shu Yu let out a long breath and stretched lazily, saying to Ying Xi, "Let's go, let's disembark."
Finally, they had arrived.
Ying Xi carried their luggage and followed Shu Yu off the ship.
Da Bai was led down by a crew member, and Ying Xi quickly hitched the carriage and led it away from the pier.
"It's bustling here."
The pier was filled with people coming and going, numerous horses and mules, and abundant goods, including many official ships.
Shu Yu and Ying Xi struggled to make their way out of the bustling pier and onto the main street.
Sitting on the carriage shaft, Ying Xi slowly strolled along, observing the lively street and couldn't help but sigh, "The capital is indeed different, under the feet of the Emperor."
"Yes, it's incredibly prosperous." Shu Yu lifted the curtain and looked outside, nodding gently.
She had been to Dong'an Prefecture, Linzhang Prefecture, and passed through Shangyang Prefecture and Huajiang Prefecture on this journey. Compared to the capital, there were significant differences in terms of the economy, population, and even public safety.
"Miss, where are we going next?"
"Let's find an inn to stay for now."
Ying Xi didn't quite understand, "Aren't we going to look for Master Meng and Master Zhao?"
Shu Yu shook her head, "No rush, let's first gather information." She didn't want to rush over and potentially disrupt their plans.
Although Ying Xi didn't fully comprehend, as long as Miss was handling it, she would follow along obediently.
Meng Yunzheng had previously explained to Shu Yu the layout of the capital. Most officials' residences were in the western part of the city, including the Gong family.
Therefore, Shu Yu chose an inn located in the western part of the city, even though it was a bit expensive.
But there was no other way; staying here was not only convenient but also safe and peaceful.
At this moment, it was still early, so after getting a room, Shu Yu and Ying Xi had lunch in their quarters. Afterward, they rested for half an hour before preparing to go out.
However, before heading out, Shu Yu took out the makeup bag from her package and changed her appearance as well as Ying Xi's.
When they finally stepped out, both were dressed in handsome male attire.
Shu Yu wandered around the streets and, as evening approached, coincidentally arrived at the entrance of the Gong family.
