After passing the alfalfa field, the group quickly arrived at the sunflower planting area.
The sunflowers had been planted for almost a month, and they were still in their seedling stage, but even as seedlings, they had grown quite big.
The sunflowers obviously loved the current weather, growing rapidly.
Da Niu and Shu Yu discussed issues regarding fertilizing and dealing with pests. Shu Yu didn't have much experience in this area, so she mostly listened to Da Niu's advice.
They also talked about the situation of the hired workers on the farm. In the past month, everyone had worked diligently.
Because it was their first time planting sunflowers, everyone was quite worried. Even during scorching hot afternoons, someone would come over to check on the plants, and there was always someone keeping watch almost the entire day.
Just as they were discussing the workers, Guo Shi happened to come over, running towards them with excitement.
"Lord Lu."
Shu Yu raised her head and noticed that there was another person with Guo Shi. The man seemed somewhat familiar.
As they got closer, Guo Shi excitedly spoke, "It's really Lord Lu!"
The man beside Guo Shi stepped forward with some uneasiness, "Village Lord Lu."
Shu Yu looked at him for a moment and asked, "Have we met somewhere before?"
"Yes, I've been working at Lord Lu's residence for the past month." As a helper, he had even attended the moving-in banquet at Shu Yu's house yesterday.
The man's name was Yu Dao, and he was rather thin, but his dark skin made him look capable.
As he mentioned it, Shu Yu suddenly recalled.
Turned out, this man had participated in the repairs of her large mansion.
She had heard Xiaoya mention it before. Guo Shi's family only consisted of her and her sickly mother-in-law. The men in her family had left, looking for work in the county. So when Guo Shi encountered danger, she didn't run to her family's house, afraid of causing trouble for them.
She never expected there would be such a connection.
Guo Shi came over to Shu Yu's side and said somewhat shyly, "Lord Lu, my husband has been working at your residence for a month. As you know, he is diligent and hardworking. Now that he's back, could you consider hiring him to work on the farm?"
Guo Shi herself was hired by Shu Yu, and she worked efficiently.
However, if Yu Dao couldn't get hired by Shu Yu, then he would have to continue looking for work in the county, and this situation couldn't continue for long.
So when Guo Shi heard that Shu Yu had come, she brought her husband along to try their luck.
After thinking for a moment, Shu Yu replied, "Alright, come later to sign a contract."
Guo Shi was delighted and quickly thanked Shu Yu while pulling Yu Dao along.
Shu Yu waved her hand. Now that the sunflowers were looking good and the weather was hot, she planned to head back to her manor.
However, Lu Da Song didn't want to leave yet. He decided to take a walk around the 100 mu of land and experience it.
Shu Yu allowed him to do so but reminded him not to stay outside for too long, as he might get heatstroke.
With that, she started walking back to her manor with Ying Xi and Zhou Qiao.
However, as they reached the main road, they saw a carriage clattering toward them from afar.
Two white horses were also pulling the carriage.
Shu Yu's eyes brightened as soon as she saw the two horses. They looked energetic and beautiful, making her envious.
Just as she was thinking, the carriage and horses in front of them stopped.
A head popped out from the carriage, "Ah Yu! It's really you!"
Shu Yu was momentarily stunned, "Yuehua? Where did you come from?"
Ding Yuehua grinned and quickly got down from the carriage.
"I came back from Donggu County. I brought you a gift. Look, these two white horses, I brought them back for you. Do you like them?"
