Lu Sanzhu mingled among them and was the first to reach the bridge. He bent over, looking at the red carp in the water, and said to Lu Erbai, "Second brother, these fish won't do. You should raise big grass carp. Whenever you want to eat, just catch one. It's much more convenient."
As soon as Da Bao heard about food, he couldn't help but swallow his saliva. "I want to eat braised fish. Second Uncle, will we have braised fish tonight?"
Lu Erbai couldn't help but laugh. "Yes, we'll have braised fish, and we'll also have braised pork, your favorite."
Da Bao was satisfied and wiped his mouth vigorously after grabbing Bao Ya, who was about to pounce into the water.
But when it came to the dinner, Yuan Shanchuan couldn't help but ask, "Second brother, when do you plan to have the housewarming banquet?"
According to convention, today was the auspicious day for the housewarming, so the banquet should be held tonight.
However, some people moved in before inviting guests. Seeing that only a few of the Lu family's siblings were here now, it seemed they would have to pick another day.
Lu Erbai smiled and said, "In two days, it will be Ah Yu's coming-of-age ceremony. We'll have the housewarming banquet together."
Coming-of-age ceremony?
Shu Yu was taken aback. "My coming-of-age ceremony? Is it my birthday in two days?"
When she said that, everyone else was also taken aback and turned to look at her. "Ah Yu, you didn't know?"
"We've been busy with the preparations for the banquet during this period. Don't you know?"
Shu Yu, "..."
She certainly knew about the banquet. Grandmother Lu had even asked her whom she wanted to invite.
Shu Yu had been in Jiangyuan County for less than four months, and besides the relatives of the Lu family, she didn't know many friends.
There was Ding Yuehua, Doctor Xu, the Deng couple, and several people from the county government, such as Xiang Weinan.
Oh, because of the shop, Shu Yu had also had several dealings with Master Yu. They could be considered business acquaintances, so she had also included him on the list.
Meng Yunzheng was the one who wrote the invitations, and Shu Yu was busy with other things, only responsible for informing her Grandmother l about the people to invite. The old then had the servants deliver the invitations to their respective homes.
Therefore, she hadn't seen the contents of the invitations.
Shu Yu certainly knew that they were going to invite guests in two days, but she thought it was for the celebration of the new house. Who would have thought it was actually for her coming-of-age ceremony?
"So, it's really my birthday in two days?"
"Of course, there's nothing more important than your coming-of-age ceremony right now." The old lady said helplessly, "How could you forget your own birthday..."
The old lady couldn't continue speaking halfway through her sentence, as if she had remembered something. She grabbed Shu Yu's hand and said, distressed, "That's right, you left us when you were young. That Xue from the Shu family took you away and didn't treat you well. How would she know when your birthday is?"
Thinking of the Shu family's character and looking at Shu Yu's suddenly enlightened expression, the old lady felt even more uncomfortable.
It seemed that Ah Yu not only didn't know her own birthday, but also might not have celebrated it from childhood to adulthood. No wonder she didn't feel anything.
Others also realized this. Ruan Shi stepped forward and took Shu Yu's other hand, saying, "Last year, your birthday had already passed when you returned. This time, it's your first birthday after reuniting with us, and it's the most important coming-of-age ceremony. We'll definitely celebrate it properly."
Shu Yu suddenly understood. "So that's why Father was so eager to renovate and move into the new house within a month, even moving in today?"
