Lu Erbai was very happy. He had been the one to carefully renovate the house bit by bit, so seeing the surprised expressions on his family's faces made him even more excited.
He was familiar with the house and led everyone to explore it room by room.
"This side is the servants' quarters. The rooms in the servants' quarters are about the same size, meant for the household servants. Some rooms are for individuals, and some are for families. Since we don't have many servants, there are still quite a few vacant rooms."
After looking at several rooms, they were all quite spacious. One family could even divide it into two separate rooms. The individual rooms were like dormitories, with both double rooms and large communal sleeping areas.
Lu Dasong and Li Shi, who were seeing it for the first time, thought that the servants' rooms were even better than their own.
Lu Erbai continued walking inside. The front courtyard was where visitors were received and where work was done.
Because everyone in the Lu family had their own businesses, the layout was different from ordinary households.
The distinctions between the main hall, wing rooms, storage rooms, and side rooms were not significant.
Lu Erbai had a woodworking job, so a workshop was specially arranged for him in one of the side rooms. Of course, he wouldn't be doing noisy carpentry work at home, but occasionally, he would draw sketches, read books, and carve small objects, activities that didn't make much noise but allowed him to fully express himself in his own personal space.
Ruan Shi and Shu You were involved in clothing design, so two rooms were dedicated to them for showcasing their samples. When they had inspiration, they could discuss and pattern-cut in the rooms.
Shu Yu had a large study and a large reception room of her own. She had more responsibilities. After she finished planting sunflowers, she had to think about roasting melon seeds and pressing oil. She also had to hire a manager and assistants.
The reception room was specifically used for receiving guests, reviewing accounts, and occasionally holding meetings.
Even Ah Rui and Ah Ning had their own study rooms.
Even the old lady had a room dedicated to her dolls.
Everyone's arrangements were clear and well-defined, making the heads of the main branch and third branch marvel.
And this was just the front courtyard. In the courtyard of the quadrangle, there were several trees and a row of potted plants.
Passing through the main hall, the back courtyard was the rear wing.
The rear wing was closer to the backyard, so it served as guest rooms, and there were also many rooms.
Lu Erbai said to Lu Dasong and the others, "Today is the auspicious day for moving. Big brother and sister-in-law, you should stay here tonight."
On the first day of moving, they needed to warm up the rooms and add more liveliness.
Lu Dasong was certainly happy, and Li Shi also felt a slight excitement. The house looked really good, and she wanted to stay here forever.
Lu Sanzhu immediately chimed in, "Second brother, our family will stay here today too. Your new house is so big, and it's more lively with more people. Tonight, let's have a drink together and have a candlelit talk, how about that?"
You've arranged it quite clearly.
Lu Erbai laughed and readily agreed.
Since the main branch and third branch were staying, it was natural for the fourth branch to stay as well.
As they talked, the group walked through the drooping flower gate and entered the backyard.
The backyard was the living area of the second branch of the Lu family, and it was much larger than the front courtyard.
The nearby pond had been filled with water, and lotus flowers had been transplanted. At this time, the flower buds were starting to emerge.
Ah Ning excitedly ran up to the bridge in the middle and waved at Xiao Zhen and the others. "Come over and see, there are fish here."
The children from several branches, except for Quan Quan, who still needed someone to hold his hand, all ran over to take a look.
