Shu Yu suddenly realized that she had forgotten something during these days.
That's right, after ending her contract with Qiu, she had intended to go to the capital city to find a source of goods.
But then she had to repair the house and buy the estate for farming, and with her mother and sister busy with the shop, she had stopped paying attention to it.
She didn't expect that the good batch of fabrics would almost be used up.
Shu Yu knew that part of the reason for the shop's success was because of her status as a county lord, but another part was because the clothes were fashionable and attractive.
Ever since Ruan Shi and Shu You returned from the southwest and saw the trendy clothes in the capital city, their inspiration soared. Shu Yu had been busy lately, and they would go to the workshop early in the morning and return late at night just to bring the clothing styles they envisioned to life.
Beautiful and of good quality, ready-made clothes with the added service of personal styling—what's not to like?
Many young ladies and wives from well-to-do households would buy two or three sets at a time.
The only drawback for Yiren Pavilion now was the lack of embroidery. It was mainly because they hadn't hired any embroiderers yet, and they were pressed for time, so the embroidery work was simple and practical.
Since taking over the shop, Shu You had been planning for this.
"After we return from the capital city this time, I plan to hire two embroiderers to make up for this deficiency. And I've thought about it, we can't always bury ourselves in the county town and work hard. If we don't understand the styles worn by the girls from outside the county, the shop won't last long. After this trip to the capital city with Mother, I plan to stay there for two days and visit the ready-to-wear shops in the capital city and surrounding counties. In the future, I'll also let Aunt Xiang and Xiang Di go out and explore."
The more Shu You spoke, the brighter her eyes became. After she finished speaking, she suddenly stopped and looked at Shu Yu. "Ah Yu, do you think my plan will work?"
"Of course it will!" Shu Yu was pleasantly surprised. "Sis, you're amazing."
Her sister, who had been delayed by the Zhang family, was now so capable.
It seemed that everyone had experienced rapid growth during their trip to the southwest.
Each of them could handle things on their own now. Shu Yu didn't need to worry about the ready-to-wear shop anymore. She would let her mother and sister handle it.
Shu You's cheeks instantly turned red, feeling extremely embarrassed. She quickly lowered her head and accelerated her movements.
She wanted to say that the best person in the family was Ah Yu.
Shu Yu chuckled and then had another thought. "But both of you haven't been to the capital city alone. How about I assign Ying Xi to you and have Ying Dong accompany you as well? With both of them protecting you, there shouldn't be any problems."
Unexpectedly, Shu You raised her head and quickly said, "No, there's no need. Ying Xi should stay by your side, and Ying Dong is busy at the main house."
"But it's so far for you and Mom to go to the capital city alone. I'm worried." Besides, they were going for business negotiations, and in front of those cunning old foxes, both her mother and sister were like blank sheets of paper, not knowing when they were being taken advantage of.
Someone had to accompany them and gain experience twice, right? Based on her observations during this period, Ying Dong was still very competent. As long as you set boundaries for him, he would guard them firmly.
"You don't need to worry. It won't be just the two of us," Shu You said, her head lowered. This time, her voice was much softer.
Shu Yu was taken aback. "Huh? Who else?"
"Um, Doctor Zhao said he would accompany us."
She almost whispered the last two words.
