After Hua Xian finished speaking, Shu Yu asked her to leave.
Once they were alone in the backyard, Shu Yu turned to Ding Yuehua and asked, "What do you think?"
"I believe Hua Xian." Honestly, Ding Yuehua hadn't spent as much time with the old lady as she had with Hua Xian. She didn't know Hua Xian's character very well.
Moreover, with the strong evidence of the scars on Hua Xian's body, it was hard not to believe her.
Shu Yu took a sip of tea. "What are you planning to do?"
"Don't worry, now that I've finally separated from the family and won't have to live under the same roof as my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, I want to enjoy a peaceful life and won't let anyone ruin it. I'll discuss it with my husband and refuse the old madam."
"That won't be easy. She couldn't do anything when she was at the estate, but now that she sees an opportunity, she might not be able to hold back any longer."
Ding Yuehua pondered. "We'll have to think of a good plan."
She was truly considering the matter.
Just then, Shu You, who had just finished applying makeup for a client, came over.
"Ah Yu, Grandma said you're here. I actually wanted to talk to you about something."
She greeted Ding Yuehua with a smile. All of them knew each other, but Shu You wasn't very familiar with Ding Yuehua. Seeing that she seemed troubled, Shu You couldn't help but be puzzled and looked at Shu Yu.
Shu Yu shook her head. "Ignore her, she's deep in thought. Come, let's go over there and talk."
Shu You nodded, and the two of them went to the dressing room.
Shu You had just finished doing someone's makeup and hadn't had a chance to tidy up before coming to see Shu Yu.
As they put away the items one by one in the drawer, they spoke.
"Sister, what did you want to talk to me about?" Shu Yu looked at the cosmetics. They were being used quite a lot, indicating that there were more girls coming here for makeup than she had imagined. Her sister had indeed made progress.
"I wanted to ask you, when will you have free time in the next few days?"
Shu Yu thought for a moment. "Tomorrow, I have to go to the estate and check on the land. Xiao Ya'er's injuries are almost healed, and she wants to go back to see her grandfather, pay her respects, and burn incense. I'll take her home while I'm at it."
In fact, Xiao Ya'er had wanted to go back when Uncle Cui had his seven-day mourning ceremony. However, her body was discovered two days later, and then he was sent to the county office due to the needs of the case. Only after the case was resolved and Jiang Kuanyu arranged for the burial did it become the sixth day.
At that time, Xiao Ya'er was still in poor health. She couldn't go back, and she secretly cried because she felt uncomfortable, even running a low-grade fever.
Under those circumstances, she couldn't be sent back to the estate. It was only now that she was well enough to be allowed to return.
Shu Yu said, "But I'll go to the estate tomorrow and return the same day. I don't have any plans for the day after tomorrow. Why do you ask?"
"In that case, can you help me take care of the shop for two days after tomorrow? I want to go to the capital city with Mom."
"The capital city? And you want to go with Mother? What for?"
Shu You smiled and said, "To buy goods. Although there are still some fabrics left at the workshop, the better ones are in short supply. Since the shop reopened, business has been good. We're no longer working with the previous fabric shop, right? I thought I should go to the capital city to look for good fabrics. If they're suitable, I'll buy a batch and bring them back. Plus, I want to broaden my horizons in the capital city. When I come back, I'll have more ideas and make better clothes."
Her eyes gleamed when she mentioned broadening her horizons.
