The others couldn't help but think that this woman had gone mad. She laughed for no reason and seemed to be going crazy.
"Hahaha." Shu Yu finally stopped laughing, stood up straight, wiped the corner of her eyes, and turned to Mei Shi with a smile, "You said the blueprints were drawn terribly, like a child's drawing. Do you know who drew them?"
Mei Shi replied, "Who drew them? Who cares? They were just too ugly."
"Not as exaggerated as that. Of course, they weren't drawn by a deity. But, you know, these blueprints were drawn by Yao Tianqin, an official of the Ministry of Works in the capital."
Mei Shi's eyes widened. "You, who did you say?"
Shu Yu had used this trick before, wielding a chicken feather as an arrow. Since Master Yao had given her father so many blueprints, she decided to make use of his name.
"Of course, Master Yao is an official in the capital, so you probably don't know him. But have you heard about the recently promoted high-speed waterwheel irrigation tools that all the prefectures and counties are actively promoting? They were designed and made by Master Yao, and they received praise from the Emperor. Are you now saying that the blueprints drawn by Master Yao are terrible? Whom are you questioning? Master Yao's abilities? The Emperor's judgment? Or the irrigation tools that benefit the country and the people?!"
Shu Yu questioned each point, hitting Mei Shi's heart like a hammer.
As Shu Yu finished her words, her complexion turned pale.
"No, it's impossible," Mei Shi raised her head abruptly and said, "You're just trying to scare me. How could you possibly know the Ministry of Works official in the capital and have his blueprints?"
Madam Fan, who had regained her senses, chimed in, "That's right, where did you get those blueprints? Did you steal them?"
"The blueprints were naturally given to me by Master Yao."
Mei Shi sneered, "How is that possible? Who do you think you are? If they were important, how could they be given to you?"
This time, Shu Yu didn't need to introduce herself. Ding Yuehua stepped forward, feeling relieved, and said, "This is my friend, Lu Shu Yu, the recently titled village Lord Lu, known by everyone in the city. Isn't it strange that Shu Yu, who used to live in the southwest, and Master Yao, who is also from the southwest, know each other? Moreover, Shu Yu's father and Master Yao are good friends. You destroyed the fruits of Master Yao's labor. What right do you have to act so self-righteous?"
Madam Fan and Mei Shi both looked at Shu Yu in shock. Lu, village Lord Lu? She was Lord Lu?
Their legs felt weak, and if the maidservants behind them hadn't supported them, they might have fallen to the ground.
For ordinary people, Lord Lu might be an important figure, but for the Fan family, she was someone they could try to please without fear.
Madam Fan had even accompanied her cousin to the capital city to attend a county princess's banquet, so she had some exposure to the world.
But Master Yao in the capital was different; he was an official in the imperial city.
Even if they didn't care about agricultural tools in the household, they had heard of the high-speed waterwheel, which was renowned throughout the Da Yu Dynasty.
And the inventor of this tool, Master Yao, even though he wasn't a high-ranking official in the imperial court, he was definitely a favored person in front of the Emperor.
The blueprints drawn by such a person had been, had been burned by Mei Shi?
Mei Shi and Madam Fan couldn't help but tremble, and the courtyard fell silent.
No one knew that at this moment, there was a figure hiding outside the courtyard, carefully observing the situation inside.
