Ding Yuehua was furious. She had seen those blueprints before, and although she didn't understand porcelain making very well, they appeared quite intricate, indicating that Shu Yu had put in a lot of effort.
Mei Shi's malicious act of destroying the blueprints simply because they belonged to the third branch was despicable.
Shu Yu felt responsible for causing this.
Ding Yuehua's eyes turned cold, and she asked in a stern voice, "Sister-in-law, what benefit do you gain from doing this? The blueprints were given by a guest. It's a business matter. By destroying the blueprints, you prevent the Fan family from delivering the goods, damaging the reputation of the Fan family!"
The Fan family's business?
Not necessarily.
Mei Shi glanced at Shu Yu and sighed, "Third sister, you misunderstand me. I did see those blueprints, but they were dirty on the desk and the drawings were messy. It didn't even resemble porcelain. I thought it was some random doodling by the worker. But a kiln is a place for making ceramics, how can we allow the workers to be so negligent and waste time? As the eldest daughter-in-law of the Fan family, I have a responsibility to supervise and punish them. Things that aren't important should not be present in the kiln, right?"
Mei Shi was the eldest daughter-in-law of the Fan family, and in the end, a large part of the family's industry would belong to the third young master. She also had her own people at the kiln, so Mei Shi quickly learned about the third young master's attitude towards those two blueprints.
Mei Shi found it strange and asked a few more questions. The other party said that the blueprints seemed to be from a friend of the third young mistress. Her friend had an urgent need, but it was not a large quantity, just a few pieces.
Well, Mei Shi knew that it wasn't a big order from a customer.
She had been at odds with Ding Yuehua and everyone in the Fan family knew it.
Especially recently, because of her selling Hua Xian, her husband had been indifferent to her. On top of that, the third son and his wife had been acting like newlyweds for half a year, always sticking together.
Could she feel happy seeing that?
Now, seeing an opportunity to create obstacles for them, Mei Shi wanted to see how the third son and his wife would explain this to her friend if it wasn't a big order but just a favor. By destroying the blueprints, she wanted to see how they would handle it.
The only unexpected thing for Mei Shi was that this friend had actually come today, coincidentally encountering and knowing the reason the blueprints were destroyed.
However, it didn't matter. It just proved that the third son and his wife were incompetent and couldn't even protect two blueprints.
Although Mei Shi didn't know what was drawn on the blueprints, they seemed quite complex, and drawing them was not an easy task.
With this in mind, Mei Shi became more confident and said with righteousness, "Third sister, you can't blame me for this. It's your fault for not properly supervising them. Besides, those blueprints were really poorly drawn. They looked like random scribbles by a child. Any normal person would consider them useless drafts, right?"
Ding Yuehua was astonished by Mei Shi's shamelessness. She used to think that Mei Shi was unreasonable, but now she found her foolish and venomous.
"Sister-in-law, you refuse to admit your wrongdoing. You..."
"Third daughter-in-law," Madam Fan rebuked, "this is your sister-in-law. Do you dare to scold her like that?"
Ding Yuehua wanted to scold her too, but Shu Yu suddenly chuckled.
Her laughter was not loud but crisp, enough to silence the entire courtyard.
Everyone looked at her and saw Shu Yu unable to stop laughing, tears streaming down her face.
Ding Yuehua's heart skipped a beat. Could Shu Yu have been deeply affected by this?
