The two of them quickly arrived at the front gate of the Fan family. Shu Yu actually had an invitation card with her, but she didn't bring it this time since her visit was impromptu.
Kong Zhi You was familiar with the Fan family and even recognized the gatekeeper. She directly told the gatekeeper, "Go and inform your Third Young Madam that I've come to visit her and brought a surprise."
When she mentioned the surprise, she glanced back at Shu Yu.
Shu Yu rubbed her forehead. She had seen Yuehua after returning, so it wasn't much of a surprise.
However, the gatekeeper had already gone inside. Not long after, someone came to invite them in.
When they reached the Drooping Flower Gate, Xiao Yun was already waiting there.
Upon seeing Kong Zhi You, Xiao Yun smiled, but in the next moment, when she saw Shu Yu who appeared next, she froze. "Lu... Lu Xiang Jun?"
Kong Zhi You smiled at her. "Didn't I tell you I brought a surprise for your Miss?"
Xiao Yun's mouth widened in a smile, and she quickly stepped aside to let them in. "My Miss will definitely be happy to see you."
This was Shu Yu's first visit to the Fan family. She might have found the Fan family impressive before, but after seeing her own mansion, she felt that these were all trivial matters. No one's backyard was as big as hers.
Unconsciously, she straightened her back and felt proud.
The three of them quickly arrived at Xilan Garden, where the Fan family's third branch resided.
When Shu Yu saw the three characters "Xi Lan Yuan" (West Orchid Garden), the first thing that came to her mind was... cauliflower?
She quickly averted her gaze and entered the main hall.
When she heard footsteps, Ding Yuehua immediately turned around.
Although she quickly showed a surprised smile, Shu Yu still caught a glimpse of her momentary annoyance when she turned around.
Perhaps they came at an inconvenient time. It seemed like she was not in a good mood just now.
But no matter how bad Ding Yuehua's mood was, she couldn't help but feel happy when she saw her two good friends.
"I thought it was just Zhi You coming. I didn't expect you, Ah Yu, to come as well. When did you secretly become such good friends without telling me?"
She pretended to be jealous and looked at the two of them.
Kong Zhi You couldn't help but laugh. "What's wrong? Are only you allowed to have a good relationship with Xiang Jun, and the rest of us can't be friends with Xiang Jun?"
But she only teased them for a moment before explaining, "I met Xiang Jun at Yiren Pavilion. When I heard that Xiang Jun wanted to buy a horse, I mentioned that your sister-in-law's family in Dong Gu County has an estate where they raise good horses. So we came together to ask you."
"So that's the matter. It's easy to handle. I'll send Xiao Yun back home to ask if my sister-in-law has any suitable horses. If not, we'll find two good ones for you as soon as possible."
"Thank you." Shu Yu wasn't too polite with her.
Ding Yue Hua was an efficient person. She immediately called Xiao Yun over and gave him instructions, repeatedly reminding him, "Make sure to ask for the best horses. Don't bring back any that Ah Yu wouldn't want."
Shu Yu... She didn't need top-quality horses. She was worried she couldn't afford them.
"Average ones will do. We just need them for transportation."
Xiao Yun nodded and quickly ran out.
Ding Yuehua glared at Shu Yu. "You're Lu Xiang Jun now."
Moreover, she didn't intend for Ah Yu to buy the horse herself. It just so happened that Ah Yu would soon come of age, and Ding Yuehua had been worrying about what to give her. Giving her a good horse was the most suitable choice.
Shu Yu shrugged. Even as Lu Xiang Jun, she was tight on funds.
Fortunately, she didn't know Ding Yuehua's thoughts, or else it would have been difficult to continue staying there.
