After some consideration, Shu Yu made the final decision. "Then let her go back to the estate. The tenants near the estate are people she is familiar with, so she won't feel uneasy there."
Yes, it's the unease that Little Ya Er's feels. The unfamiliar environment, the uncertain future, and the recent loss of her grandfather have put immense pressure on her.
Jiang Kuanyu hesitated a bit. "But she will be alone... How will she survive?"
"Let her stay at the estate. My eldest brother and sister-in-law will move there tomorrow. Although Little Ya Er's is young, she can do some small tasks within her abilities, such as feeding the chickens, picking insects, and occasionally lending a hand to others. She won't go hungry with a few meals provided."
Little Ya Er's nodded vigorously. "I can do many things." She could wash clothes and cook. Her grandfather often praised her for being capable.
Although Jiang Kuanyu still felt it was inappropriate, Little Ya Er's refused to leave, so they had to make this decision.
In the afternoon, after the case was closed at the yamen, Jiang Kuanyu brought Old Cui's body back to the estate for burial.
Little Ya Er's didn't go with them because she was still sick and not suitable for travel.
With Tang Shi being sentenced to death, the matter finally came to a complete end.
Jiang Kuanyu returned to the capital, and Da Niu and Zhou Qiao had already packed up and were ambitiously preparing to go to the estate to cultivate the land.
Shu Yu gave them the family's cart, but now the family was inconvenienced without a cart.
Shu Yu planned to buy another carriage, but after looking around the market, she couldn't find a suitable one.
Jiangyuan County was not prosperous enough, and the horses available there were either too old or had injuries. Most of them had some problems. They were far from the majestic high-headed horses that Shu Yu had imagined.
After searching around and coming back empty-handed, Shu Yu returned to Yiren Pavilion.
No one was at home. Both the old lady and Shu You had been busy in the store these past few days.
Yiren Pavilion was now under Shu You's full management. She had just taken over and was still familiarizing herself with the operations.
Especially since the store reopened, many people came when they heard the news, and business increased significantly. The old lady was worried, so she stayed here with Hua Xian to help.
When Shu Yu entered, there were several customers in the store looking at clothes.
The old lady sat behind the counter and, upon seeing Shu Yu return, her expression didn't seem too pleased. She knew that Shu Yu hadn't found anything on this trip.
"You didn't find anything?"
Shu Yu shook her head. "Nothing suitable. I'm thinking of going to the capital in a few days. I should be able to find something good there."
The old lady comforted her. "No rush. We don't need to go far, and one carriage is enough."
What's wrong with walking a bit more? In the past, when they came to the county town, they would set off early in the morning. Now that they were working in the county town, why be afraid of walking a few extra steps?
Shu Yu knew that the old lady was worried about her being too tired. Although she said that, a carriage would still be more efficient.
"What is village lord Lu planning to buy?"
Suddenly, a somewhat familiar voice came from behind. Shu Yu was startled and turned her head to see a young lady standing behind her with a smile on her face.
It suddenly occurred to her. Wasn't this the first customer when their store opened?
Back then, Ding Yue Hua brought seven or eight ladies to help take care of her business. This person seemed to be one of them, called Zhi You?
