The stolen silver from the Tang family would be returned to the Wang family, and then they would be able to claim Old Cui's body. As for Li Xiao Shan's body, Liang Wang Sheng had already confirmed his identity when he came with Ying Xi on that day. Afterward, he didn't pay much attention to it. After all, the Liang family had divorced this burden of a son-in-law, and the marriage contract had been revoked. It had nothing to do with their family.
Therefore, the officials informed the Li family to come and claim the body. The Li family had many sons and didn't really care about Li Xiao Shan. Moreover, he was an outsider, equivalent to marrying into the family. In addition, he had done something so disgraceful that even the Li clan members didn't want him buried in their ancestral grave.
In the end, the Li family most likely wrapped his body in a mat and buried it somewhere.
Jiang Kuan Yu would take care of these matters, so Shu Yu didn't have to worry about them.
After crying for a while, Little Ya Er's demeanor changed. Although she still appeared weak, at least she no longer remained silent.
She sat in the cart and slowly began to recount the events of that day. It turned out that when Li Xiao Shan threw her to the ground, she hit her head and fainted.
When she woke up, she saw her grandfather lying in the courtyard covered in blood.
She rushed outside, but her grandfather told her not to make a sound and to escape quickly to find help. He pushed her away, asking her to take care of herself in the future. With only a few words left, he breathed his last.
At that time, Little Ya Er thought her grandfather could still be saved. While Li Xiao Shan and Ying Xi were cleaning the bloodstains on themselves, she planned to seek help.
However, her head was in great pain. Li Xiao Shan's throw wasn't light, causing her to faint again before she could crawl halfway through the dog hole.
When Tang Shi and his wife came out, they didn't see her. They went out to search for her but couldn't find her. Afraid that she would seek help from others, they stayed outside the house, watching. If she tried to seek help, they would see her immediately and control the situation in advance.
Little Ya Er took a long time to wake up again. She was worried about her grandfather and hurriedly ran back to the courtyard.
However, there was nothing in the courtyard except blood. At five years old, she understood everything. She knew that her grandfather had been murdered.
She crawled out of the dog hole again, but the direction to the village was blocked. If she shouted loudly, it might be heard by her aunt, who lived closest to her house. But her house only had her and her sick mother-in-law. She was afraid that if they came out, Tang Shi and his wife would kill them too.
Her head was dizzy, and she couldn't think of a better solution, so she ran in the opposite direction.
In the woods, she saw someone, but she didn't care who it was. She just wanted to seek help from them.
But that person was a guard from the black market, who didn't care about her at all. They didn't even allow her to walk in the woods and drove her away.
Little Ya Er stumbled forward and eventually fell down a steep slope.
Shu Yu and Jiang Kuan Yu listened with deep sympathy. When they arrived home, they asked Hua Xian to help wash her hair and clean her up. Then they discussed the arrangements for Little Ya Er.
Actually, if you said that Little Ya Er had no relatives, that wasn't accurate. Since Tang Shi was Old Cui's distant niece, there was a family relationship between their families and the Tang family.
However, considering how cold and ruthless the Tang family had treated their own daughter, it was impossible for them to adopt and treat Little Ya'er well.
Jiang Kuanyu said, "I'll take her back to the mansion."
Shu Yu didn't object, but when she asked Little Ya'er about it, the girl fell silent and clearly didn't want to go.
She wanted to return to the estate where her grandfather was. She wanted to be with him.
But now she didn't have the choice. She was only five years old and couldn't do anything. If she didn't go with Jiang Kuanyu, she could only go to the charity house or become a beggar.
