Shu Yu saw that her father had everything well organized, so she didn't approach him and instead went to see Zheng Gong and the blueprints.
They had made some modifications to the blueprints yesterday, so she wanted to understand what had been changed.
Upon closer inspection, she noticed that the modification was made to the position of the backyard, specifically the pond in the backyard.
Originally, the pond was stagnant, but Zheng Gong discovered that there was an underground water channel connected to the pond, which could turn the stagnant water into flowing water.
Flowing water was naturally better than stagnant water, so Lu Erbai and Zheng Gong had discussed how to proceed.
In this aspect, they were the experts, and Shu Yu only needed a general understanding.
However, this would increase the cost. But that wasn't a problem for Shu Yu. She told them to go ahead with the plans and assured them that if they ran short of money, she would borrow from someone.
Although she said that, Shu Yu actually had tens of thousands of taels of silver on hand. Even if they turned the pond upside down, she had more than enough.
Just as she was thinking about it, she saw someone running over in excitement.
"Ah-Yu..."
Shu Yu raised her gaze and saw it was Da Niu.
"Ah Yu, I've found a few estates, and one of them seems very suitable. Do you want to go take a look?"
Da Niu had been running around helping her look for lands these past few days, and in such a short time, it seemed like he had gotten a tan.
Shu Yu's eyes brightened slightly. "You found a suitable one?"
"Yes, but it's a bit far from here."
Distance didn't matter to Shu Yu. It wouldn't be too far as long as it wasn't in the capital city. As long as the location was suitable, she was fine with it.
"Then let's go see it now."
She returned the blueprints to Zheng Gong and informed Lu Erbai before quickly walking out with Da Niu.
The villagers from Shishi Village who were working nearby were momentarily stunned. They had wanted to greet Da Niu, but before they could, he said a few words and ran off.
Someone whispered to Lai Jin Hai, "What did Da Niu mean by 'estates'? Do you know?"
Lai Jin Hai had no idea, so he instinctively took a few steps forward.
"Da Niu!"
Da Niu halted his steps and turned around, looking somewhat surprised at Lai Jin Hai. "Brother-in-law, what are you doing here?"
Lai Jin Hai explained, "We're all here to work on the mansion. Besides me, your little uncle and cousin are also here."
Da Niu suddenly realized, but he didn't have time for pleasantries. He said to Lai Jin Hai, "Brother-in-law, you guys have just arrived here, right?"
Seeing Lai Jin Hai nod, he continued, "Alright then. I'll come over later to see you all. I have some business to attend to outside the city right now."
"Sure, take care of your matters first. We'll talk when you have time."
As they spoke, the two continued walking. When they reached the shadow wall, Lai Jin Hai stopped.
Da Niu went around and walked a few steps to reach the entrance.
But to his surprise, Shu Yu was standing at the entrance without moving. He walked over, puzzled. "Ah Yu, what's wrong?"
With narrowed eyes, Shu Yu looked towards the corner outside the gate and coldly shouted, "Come out!"
Da Niu was taken aback and immediately turned around to look at the empty corner, furrowing his brows. "Is there someone bad there?"
Ying Xi, who was following closely behind Shu Yu, was about to draw the dagger from her waist, but Shu Yu held her back.
