Everyone couldn't help but look at Meng Yunzheng, who then glanced at Shu Yu.
Shu Yu turned her head away, avoiding eye contact. She wasn't good at coming up with names.
Meng Yunzheng could only clear his throat and say, "So, as long as each person thinks of a character, it will work. For example, if Ah Yu's name is Lu Shu Yu, then San Ya..."
"Lu Shu Liang?" San Ya immediately asked.
Wow, she just took the second character of "beautiful" and used it?
Meng Yunzheng was somewhat amused and said, "There are many characters that describe beauty and elegance, such as 'Ning,' 'Ping,' and 'Zi.' They also convey the meaning of beauty."
San Ya tilted her head, "So many?"
In the next moment, her eyes suddenly lit up. "Then I'll be called Lu Shu Ning."
She turned to the others and asked, "How is it? Is it okay?"
Lu Erbai and the others felt that it sounded much better than "smart" and "beautiful," so they nodded eagerly.
San Ya looked at Shu Yu, and Shu Yu wrote the characters down for her to see.
"Are you... sure?" There were quite a few strokes.
But nowadays, traditional characters often have many strokes.
San Ya wrote it herself once and felt it was fine.
Shu Yu nodded, "Hmm, if you don't regret it, then it's settled."
San Ya was very satisfied and happily admired her own name.
Her name was chosen, and next was Da Hu's turn.
Da Hu had read books himself and already had an idea in mind. So when Meng Yunzheng looked at him, he said, "I, I like Rui."
Meng Yunzheng raised an eyebrow. Rui, meaning intelligent.
"Alright, Lu Shu Rui. May you be intelligent and visionary, and may you achieve academic success in the future and become the top scholar," Meng Yunzheng said.
Da Hu's eyes truly sparkled. This was exactly what he loved to hear. Big brother Meng really understood his thoughts.
Initially, the Lu family only wanted him to read and write. They didn't expect him to pass the imperial examinations and become an official. At the very least, they wanted him to be literate and sensible. They didn't want to put too much pressure on him.
But clearly, Da Hu didn't share their mindset. His ambition and lofty aspirations were good traits.
Moreover, with Meng Yunzheng, who was knowledgeable and talented, present, Da Hu achieving academic success didn't seem too difficult.
Shu Yu wrote Da Hu's name on the paper. Although the little guy seemed calm just now, he was now beaming with joy.
Lastly, Shu Yu looked at Da Ya. The latter froze for a moment and pointed at herself, asking, "Do I need to change my name too?"
The next moment, she quickly waved her hands, saying, "No need for me. I'm used to being called Da Ya, and I'm already this old."
The old lady said, "We can still call you Da Ya. Consider it a nickname. We'll change your formal name. Otherwise, if I shouts 'Da Ya' in the village, all the girls will turn around and look at me."
San Ya, who was excited earlier, came over and grabbed Da Ya's hand, saying, "Elder sister, you should change it. Otherwise, people won't know that we're siblings."
The other members of the Lu family nodded in agreement.
Da Ya blushed, "Since it's like this, then... let's change it."
Meng Yunzheng asked, "What meaning do you want your name to convey?"
Before Da Ya could answer, Zhao Xi squeezed his way over and said, "I'll come up with a name for Da Ya."
She was his future bride, so how could he let Ah Yun take away his right to name her?
Meng Yunzheng glanced at him and stepped back decisively. "Alright, you do it."
Everyone's gaze focused on Zhao Xi, and Da Ya's face grew even redder.
Zhao Xi felt a little embarrassed, but he still plucked up the courage to say, "What do you all think about Lu Shu You?"
