"Has she caused you trouble?" Shu Yu frowned and asked.
Ding Yuehua replied, "She's okay when she's in front of me, at most just making snide remarks. She doesn't dare to truly confront me. What disgusts me is that she specifically instigates behind my back and even goes to my husband to badmouth me. My mother-in-law used to dislike me running around outside, but now she dislikes me even more."
"But I remember, wasn't it because of your business ventures outside that the third young master of the Fan family took an interest in you? He admired your spirited demeanor," Shu Yu said.
Ding Yuehua straightened her back slightly, feeling somewhat proud. "That's right! That's why I told him to talk to my mother-in-law himself. As a result, instead of mentioning my business ventures, she started pressuring me to have children."
Shu Yu was momentarily speechless. No wonder Ding Yuehua didn't like staying at home. Yesterday, she had come to find her, and today she accompanied her to purchase servants.
It was all because Ding Yuehua's natal family was strong-willed, and the third young master of the Fan family supported her. Otherwise, it would have been difficult for her in her marital home.
"Anyway, my eldest sister-in-law recently sold Hua Xian, which upset my eldest brother. She's currently trying to repair their relationship," Ding Yue Hua said, sounding somewhat gleeful. Only in front of Shu Yu could she vent like this.
After all, it was a family matter. If she told her mother, she would worry, and if she told outsiders, they would only ridicule her.
Only in front of Ah Yu could she let loose.
However, she didn't like talking about the troubles in her family. Soon, she changed the topic. "Let's not talk about them anymore. My family recently produced several new porcelain pieces, different from before and quite beautiful. I'll save them for you. Once your mansion is renovated, you can move in, and I'll congratulate you."
The Fan family dealt in porcelain, so the third young master of the Fan family could make decisions in this regard.
Shu Yu didn't refuse. As they continued chatting, the carriage arrived at the government servants shop.
There were more people in the government shop, and Shu Yu actually found a girl who was skilled in martial arts.
This girl was a year younger than herself but quite proficient in martial arts.
However, she came as a pair with her older brother, so Shu Yu bought them both. It worked out well because her brother was even more skilled than she was.
It was said that the siblings had grown up in a caravan and later encountered legal troubles when the caravan became embroiled in a lawsuit. Their parents died in prison, and the siblings were subsequently sold.
The older brother was named Ying Dong, and the younger sister was Ying Xi.
After finalizing their purchase, Shu Yu also found two households servants. One surnamed Zhong consisted of an elderly man in his fifties, his two sons, two daughters-in-law, and two granddaughters—one sixteen and the other nine years old—as well as a thirteen-year-old grandson. They were a family of eight, making the group quite large.
The other household was surnamed Lin, consisting of a woman with her son, daughter-in-law, and an eight-year-old grandson.
Shu Yu counted them up. Including Hua Xian's group, she now had a total of nineteen servants.
Nineteen, a few more than Shu Yu had anticipated.
However, this meant that Da Hu and San Ya had companions as well.
With all the servants gathered, Shu Yu decided not to visit other servants house shops anymore and had them taken to Fenghuai Street.
Usually, the government servants house wouldn't assist with transportation, but now that Shu Yu was the village Lord, they naturally agreed without hesitation.
Since the purchase was finalized, they would stay at the mansion tonight, so they needed to purchase daily necessities as well.
Ding Yuehua had nothing to do, so she accompanied Shu Yu to buy clothes and bedding, along with the Ying siblings, who lent a hand.
