Shu Yu swallowed her saliva; she felt that Meng Yunzheng was probably seeking revenge on Zhao Xi.
Seeing that Zhao Xi was about to settle the score, she quickly pulled him back and said, "Well, usually that saying is correct, but my sister's situation is different, right? We can't generalize."
"Really?" Zhao Xi turned his head, his expression still twisted.
Shu Yu nodded. "Really."
Meng Yunzheng completely ignored Zhao Xi's expression of wanting to rush over and bite him. He turned to Shu Yu and said, "By the way, I wanted to talk to you about something. Yesterday, I took Da Hu to meet Master Wen and talked to him about Da Hu's progress in his studies. When it came to Da Hu's name, should we consider changing it since he hasn't taken the county exam yet? Da Hu can be used as a nickname?"
The name Da Hu was too common. Not only in Jiangyuan County, but even in Shishi Village, there were two people with the same name.
Fortunately, their surname wasn't Lu; otherwise, if Da Hu were to really achieve success in the future and the government officials came to the village to report good news, they might easily make mistakes and cause trouble.
After contemplating for a moment, Shu Yu thought it was feasible.
"In that case, I'll ask and discuss with my family when I go back." Changing one's name was a big decision, after all.
San Ya overheard and raised her little head. "I, I also want to change mine. I want a name similar to Second Sister's. Second Sister's name sounds nice."
Shu Yu ruffled her hair. "Okay, we'll discuss your name when we get back home too, alright?"
San Ya immediately got excited. "Then let's go home now."
She pulled Shu Yu along, intending to change their names and then come back.
Shu Yu could only wave goodbye to Meng Yunzheng and let the little girl drag her home.
At this moment, everyone was still at home except for Ruan Shi, who had gone to the tailoring shop, and Da Hu, who had gone to the school to study.
Da Ya was waiting for news from Shu Yu. When she saw that Shu Yu didn't come back with the box, she knew that Zhao Xi had taken it back, and she breathed a sigh of relief.
On the other hand, Lu Erbai woke up a bit late. After having a late breakfast, he was preparing to go to Shishi Village to recruit some workers.
Yesterday, he had a chat with Yuan Shanchuan, and the latter actually introduced someone to him, someone who could help him recruit about ten reliable short-term workers.
Because of this, Lu Erbai had dinner with them and even drank a bit. Perhaps he was too happy, so he drank a bit too much, and he came back very late. Naturally, he woke up late this morning.
Fortunately, they had hired a helper, so Yuan Shanchuan brought him back home.
When he saw Shu Yu, Lu Erbai suddenly remembered something and stopped in his tracks. "Ah Yu, there's something I want to ask you."
"What is it?"
"It's your third uncle. He wants to buy a house in the county."
"Buy a house??" Before Shu Yu could say anything, the old lady couldn't help but exclaim, "With the little money he has, he wants to buy a house in the county? Is he full and can't eat anymore? Wait a moment..."
The old lady suddenly frowned. "Did he talk to you alone about buying a house? Is he trying to borrow money from you?"
Lu Erbai helplessly realized that nothing escapes a mother's eyes. After chatting with Yuan Shanchuan yesterday, Lu Sanzhu naturally knew about it. And when no one was paying attention, he asked Lu Erbai to lend her money, a total of two hundred taels, claiming that he wanted to buy a house.
Lu Erbai did have some money saved up, but he couldn't lend him that much.
He tactfully expressed his own difficulties, and as a result, this guy mentioned Shu Yu.
Lu Erbai immediately understood that Lu San Zhu wasn't asking him for money; it was more like... right, laying the groundwork, clearly wanting him to approach Shu Yu.
