Since Master Yu knew about the Ruan family and the Lu family's pair of dragon and phoenix twins, he must have learned about the existence of the other pair of twins from Madame Yu and the others. It was likely that he would send the children back.
So... he didn't send them back? He even adopted them as his own son and daughter?
Master Yu looked at the children playing at the door and a rare gentle smile appeared on his face. "Yes, they are the other pair of dragon and phoenix twins. Initially, I was deceived, but fortunately, I received guidance from a wise person and had a sudden realization. I no longer pursued finding dragon and phoenix twins and instead focused on doing good deeds to accumulate blessings. As for the children, if it wasn't meant to be, I wouldn't force it."
Shu Yu, as the wise person, silently lowered her head and took a sip of tea, concealing her emotions.
Master Yu didn't notice and continued, "I originally intended to send these two children back, but when they arrived at the mansion, I saw how emaciated they were and asked a few more questions. It turns out that their biological parents have passed away, and they were living with their aunt and uncle. However, their greedy aunt sold them. Not only that, they were mistreated in the household, lacking food to eat, and their lives were extremely difficult. After investigating, I found that it was true, so I decided to keep them in my home."
And that decision brought about an emotional attachment.
Master Yu didn't usually interact much with children. He found them quite bothersome.
He was desperate for a child, but he didn't have the patience to deal with children. His main goal was to carry on the family line. Even if the children were not likable, he couldn't do without them.
Therefore, he had limited interactions with children in the past. But since hearing the nun's words, he had changed. She had said that the children needed to feel the warmth of a home and know that the Yu family welcomed them in order for their souls to be reborn into the family.
Since then, Master Yu had patiently interacted with the children. Coincidentally, this pair of dragon and phoenix twins had also arrived at the mansion, so he spent the most time with them.
How should he put it? Young children truly possessed a magical ability to heal people's hearts.
When the two children first arrived at the Yu family, they were extremely timid, and Master Yu was a bit angry about it. But later, he discovered that they didn't dare to eat too much, sit too much, sleep too much, or speak too much. They just kept working tirelessly. They also had many old wounds on their bodies, which made Master Yu feel even more distressed.
He started making great efforts to correct their personalities and devoted his energy to them. The harm caused by Madame Yu's betrayal was gradually forgotten and became unimportant.
Later on, Master Yu officially adopted them as his son and daughter, had them study and learn to read, and even went to their previous home to smash it and break the legs of their aunt and uncle, seeking revenge for his own children.
Now, Master Yu seemed to have the look of a contented man with children. Although he still wanted his own bloodline, it didn't hinder his genuine love for these two children.
After listening quietly, Shu Yu remained silent for a while. Well, could this be considered her achievement?
But regardless, the outcome was good.
"Meeting Master Yu was also their good fortune." Otherwise, if they had continued to stay with their aunt and uncle, who knows when they would have lost their lives.
Master Yu laughed heartily. "That is also my good fortune."
After playing the emotional card, Master Yu finally talked about the purpose of his visit. "I came here today to discuss the matter of the Ningshui Street shop."
