Now I feel bad for her -- just trying to have a nice night out. But soooo clueless. This is why more restaurants need the "last seating" sign. Some people need what most of us understand as reasonable and kind behavior spelled out to protect everyone involved.

We had a “Ken” come in on Saturday night with his mom. They wanted to sit somewhere quiet…ON A SATURDAY NIGHT. We had several parties but I sat them away. Then an eight top walked in. Only place to seat them was next to Quiet Ken & his mommy. They had books out they were reading and said, “We just wanted to have a nice quiet dinner but that’s apparently not going to happen!!” I apologized but reminded him it was Saturday. He told me I was not actually sorry…..got me there.
