Depends on if I’m in the weeds or not. If the tickets been sitting for a while and I just am getting to it, I’m gonna make the hard drinks first because they’ve already been waiting a while, and that order came in first. I’d rather be a little behind on everyone’s ticket than really behind on some and on time for the others. But if it’s slow or at least steady, and I don’t have any other tickets ahead of them or i’m getting orders out quickly, I’m making the Tito’s and soda first.

I’ve only bartended at a dive bar, so I can’t answer most of this but as a bartender if you have more than 3 customers in your bar you absolutely cannot have tunnel vision everyone is at disservice if you do that, less money for you and you can get in the weeds easily that way.

Damn... I loved working the well. Left the customers to Clint! Anyway.....I did do triage... and yet sometimes in doing that I realized I was making ALL of the quick drinks and forgetting about the others... soooo... It's a process. ha!

Hey Nicole maybe if you tipped me more than just $20 dollars every shift, maybe. Then maybe I would make your drinks first. Your the only one who doesn’t tip on NA beverages. I have to make those to you know. Also, Nicole you can’t have 5 favorite bartenders. Everyone knows I’m the best! Terry said so!

I feel both sides of this. But also every customer regardless of their order is valid so it’s first in first served. Just because the next persons order is easier doesn’t mean they have more right to get theirs first over the people who ordered before them and are also waiting.

And before anyone comes for me... I worked all the positions in the place. Started as a host, worked a second job as a dishwasher, up to a server, then cocktail, bartender, finally management until I just decided I couldn't do any of it anymore :)

First in, first out. During a busy time, if I keep back tracking on my tickets to get those quick draft beers or 7n7s, I'll never get back to that stupid fancy drink and that server will be pissed and then I get more in the weeds. ALWAYS FIFO. As far as getting caught in conversation, we work off tips too. Can't ignore the regulars (not all bartenders are tipped out...) HOWEVER, any decent restaurant has 2 on at busy time. One for the well, one for the counter/running bar food. If it's an insanely busy place, good management will have a specific bar back who covers everything to keep the bartenders free to make drinks.

This video legit gave me server ptsd. I totally can relate. I think that this would drive us all crazy except if Clint did it. Actually, Clint would be able to make all the drinks simultaneously 🤣 or at least it would be pleasant to watch him 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bartenderd for some huge shows a few times..never in a bar. Tell you what .NO, just NO. I would rather clean cat litter,..its a tough gig..for many of the reasons Nicole just focused on. Nicole reminds me of a great, sarcastic friend in the same biz, but admittedly, her complexion, does exceed Nicoles..perhaps a bit of moistener, and a razor.....typed with love.
