An actually cool compensation would be to shut down for 2 days. Day 1 would be the deep clean, day 2 would be a paid holiday(throw in some extra to make up for tips)

I'd say regular pay for the hourly workers, but servers who are paid 2.50 an hour need at least minimum wage, or whatever the lowest paid hourly worker gets.

Pizza party? Is this middle school? Each server should get an Amazon gift card for $100, the kitchen staff $150 cos they’re the ones who are cooking lunch for the servers. Good stuff, too! But what do I know, working at McDonald’s at the age of 15 to buy Duran Duran records? Cleaning the ice cream machine meant free ice cream and a shitload of caramel sauce!

Nope. Class it up a little. They WORK there..not a party to them. Make it one. GREAT pizza, and the gift cards a good start. Make sure you have everything you need for the clean in advance..nothing says buzz killer like having to leave everybody to be the designated runner..been there. I mean, if you DON'T want to have employees the next day, by all means, just do the pizza. Though I don't think anyone besides MAYBE that pothead dishwasher who's always "on break" will be coming in to clean. Think about it this way (and BE HONEST with yourself): if you WEREN'T the manager would you come in ALL day to scrub and wipe down stuff just for a couple slices of 'Za and some fruit punch? C'mon man... that'd be like asking Tim to NOT use a gift card, or Pickles to stop liking pickles! WAR TIDE / ROLL EAGLE!

Now Terry, you expect people to come in and work all day cleaning the place to get one or two pieces of pizza? Naw, I know Nicole would quit at the thought of it. What you do is you let everybody clock in at a special hourly rate thats the same for everyone so no one is working the same hours and making more than anyone else. That's the only fair way of doing it. I know if I worked for you and was given a 50$ gift card or pizza for a day of deep cleaning, I would quit on the spot.
