I think it's more that this segment offers insight into Raymond's brother. It's likely that the Patron of the Borrowed is the being controlling the brother and Swacc are "rebelling" now b/c the skull is so valuable and the other ancient Patrons would be waking up. I'd guess the missing 3 aren't so hot for Elhume anymore, otherwise they'd have been more openly used.

No. He was weaker than Randidly is currently, and these patrons were at speculum level, which isn’t something Randidly can compare with.
