Like what the Xyr brigade does, they keep weak versions of their images on themselves to always go at full power when they need to. The reversed images could be instead the shadows of Rands's current images. The grim chimera as a human. The phoenix is the sun. The world tree is a dead tree. All not only as an aesthetic change but as a way to make a new reality for his images. Why fool the universe where you can create a universe that follows your laws?
