Starting the Viking Longboat!
🕑 Added 2022-04-12 16:31:15 +0000 UTCLadies and gentlemen,
The past days I have tried to work on the roof tusk addons for the ork-hut but so far this part is unbuildable for me. I tried it with the round polygonal approach as seen in the Blender screenshot I have shared before but I think I will have to try again with just a three sided version like I have done with the small huts. So this will take some more time to optimize geometry for good looks and easy of build ...
In the meantime I have started texturing the Viking Longboat! Here is a little peek at the deck texturing I have completed. I will try the mast shoe as an optional 3D structure or at least a doubled up 2D part but I also added it to the flat texture in case you want a very easy build. Once I got the sides done too I look forward to the first test builds in color!
Speaking of ships ... what would an Ork/Tribal ship look like? Any ideas? I can imagine Elven or Dwarf boats but I have no real vision for the wild folk. So any feedback is most welcome!
Until next time, stay safe and keep building :)
Chris

That's a good path for inspiration! Thanks

Tribal themed ship would most likely be a mix of smaller canoes, and the larger Maori 'waka' types for longer voyages; or some other analog.
