Emmett was always one of my favorite characters on this show, and he is actually played by an openly gay actor (as is Justin). Ted definitely does have self-esteem issues. And I can’t imagine a better choice to play Debbie than Sharon Gless. It is a great deal of fun to revisit this show with you years after having seen it in its original run.
