Tutorial 66 - Line Quality

Hi Zsolt, I would definitely not consider that cheating. I actually think the only cheating in art is copying an artist directly and then pretending it's yours - see Damien Hirst. I think tracing reference is fine, I think copying reference directly is fine. It's all about the end result, if you make a compelling and unique image, then that's all that matters. If we want to learn, we have to copy. If we want to make a deadline we probably have to use a lot of reference. Don't feel guilty about this. I haven't used LN, but it looks awesome. Paint Tool Sai has something similar built in, giving you control over how smooth a line can be. I'd love to try LN. Will give it a go one day. And actually, something I should have said in this tutorial. ... What's more important than the quality of our line? it's where we actually place our line, and there is no software that can help us with that. That only comes with practice.

Hi Nathan! I have a Q regarding this topic. Especially about working with digital media. What do you think about using a software to compensate this sensitivity of the digital media. I'm talking about Lazy Nezumi -> http://lazynezumi.com/ . Does this considered as cheating? Or should we stick to practice dynamic sketching techniques when we are starting to use for example cintiq or intuos. I tend to use Lazy Nezumi when I'm working digitally, even tough I practicing drawing lines on a traditional media (felt tip pen/paper) each day. Should I feel guilt? :) I'm really curious about your point of view, on this topic! Thanks a lot.
