Tutorial 23 - Practicing Line Fluidity
🕑 Added 2016-01-24 11:45:24 +0000 UTCHere's a simple warm-up exercise to help with line fluidity.
A fluid line is graceful and smooth, and may be used to communicate certain kinds of moods and emotions. Artwork with this type of line may appear to have been created quickly, which might be true of any such work, but an artist may take considerable time planning, often "ghosting" strokes or hovering for a moment before committing.
Try thinking a few lines ahead. Observe the overall effect of intersecting lines or the effect of an incomplete line. What happens if you try to complete a life drawing in only 3 or 4 lines?
There are many ways to experiment. This practice will also help you explore and develop your style. Give it a try and see what happens.
