Not a Dinosaur, nor a Fish: Meet the Plesiosaur!
🕑 Added 2025-06-14 16:34:33 +0000 UTCPlesiosaurs were among the most striking marine reptiles to ever patrol Earth’s prehistoric oceans, creatures of mythic proportions with broad, paddle-like limbs and, in many species, astonishingly long necks that gave them an almost otherworldly elegance. Though often mistaken for dinosaurs, these marine reptiles followed a different evolutionary path, mastering life in the seas with sleek bodies built for power and precision.
In my upcoming paleoart book, plesiosaurs will glide once more through vividly reconstructed ancient waters, not only the well-known giants like Elasmosaurus and Plesiosaurus, but also some of the lesser-known, yet equally fascinating species that history has nearly forgotten. From obscure deep-divers to bizarrely specialized forms, the book will shine a spotlight on these aquatic marvels, capturing both their grandeur and their mystery with scientific accuracy and artistic flair.
Stay tuned! This is only a glimpse beneath the surface...
