Yesterday I shared the pre-alpha video for TruckSim GPS on the r/trucksim community on Reddit and got a bunch of feedback! I know many of you joined Patreon from there, so thank you and welcome!

600+ upvotes confirm that there's certainly interest for an app like this one. This means that development continues straight into the first alpha version.
The schedule for what comes next is as follows:
Try to get the first alpha-1 version ready as soon as possible with what we have at the moment:
Hopefully this will happen within 1 month. Patreon Early Tester and VIP backers will get early access to all the alpha builds. Version alpha-1 will have bugs and lack features, it will only support the base ETS2 map and probably still have a 1-2mins startup time. All this will be fixed in the next builds.Continue iterations in alpha builds:
During the next few months, I'll continue to iterate fixing bugs, adding pending features, adding support for ATS/DLCs, and working on the features that you, the community, value most.
I'll be posting regular updates, and asking the community via polls which are the features that you think should be top priority.

Before the public release, we will run a few beta builds where we'll lock the features and only work on fixing bugs and polishing. Hopefully we'll reach this stage before the end of the year, probably sooner.

I expect to make the Trello board visible to everyone soon after alpha-1.

Hello, thank you for the feedback! I've added voice directions to the backlog, which would require turn detection to work, so we could definitely also add the next turn and distance to the UI as part of that feature. Alternative routes and ETAs, that's interesting, noted. As for traffic yes, I doubt that will be possible, but I'll look into it. I'll be researching integration with TruckersMP or convoy mode, it'd be great to see other truckers in the map at least.

Hello! Maybe you already considered this, but it would be nice to have directions like in GMaps, for example how many miles/km till the next turn, which direction, lanes merging soon etc. Another nice option could be alternative routes and time (duration). I could also add traffic, but that would probably be one of those features that are high complexity, low gains and you would need traffic info, which I doubt is available. Not to mention you will need also integration with traffic density mods.

Hello! It's still not decided at this stage. Very possibly it will be listed for free with support for basic navigation without limits similar to the pre-alpha video, with extra features in a paid pro upgrade.

Have you decided how the app will be listed on mobile app stores? Will it be free to use, or will there be a purchase price? Iâd gladly pay a one-time fee for an app like this! đ #WorthIt
