State of the Game - July 1, 2023
🕑 Added 2023-07-01 11:28:55 +0000 UTCHello, hello yet again. I'm back with your semi-regular devlog update.
The two main things I've been up to are finishing up Character Creator code, refactoring the inventory system, and starting on refactoring the save system.
I really want this new inventory system to be more user friendly. I'm currently trying to figure out how to filter food items by their flavor (I know that's been requested by a few people). I haven't quite figured it out yet, but hopefully within the next week or so.
The way I'm refactoring the save system will hopefully prevent more people's data from getting lost.
As far as new features are concerned, I'm currently trying to bring back a failed addition from a while back. Some of you familiar with Tomodachi Life might remember the QR codes the game could make if you wanted to share your character with other people and let the put the character in their personal game.
I attempted to pull this off a while ago, but due to some technical difficulties, couldn't figure out to to get the game to properly read the code it produced. I'm currently trying to make this work again. With the new, more robust character creator, I think this would be such a great addition to have. I'll keep you updated as this develops.
That's it for the devlog update for now. Hopefully I'll have some visual progress to show next week!
