State of the Game - August 22, 2023
🕑 Added 2023-08-22 16:01:55 +0000 UTCHey there, everyone! Here with another Chub Chomp Chill update.
After months and months of refactoring, I'm happy to say that the game is finally playable again.
...but it's not quite done yet.
There's still a fair number of things to be done before it's ready to ship. But it should go by way faster now, at least.
As far as progress goes, the most recent thing I've done is the new save system. This system makes a separate save file for each individual citizen. It also loads a "default" attribute if the game can't find a particular key in your file. This should solve those rare moments when people's saves corrupt, making them have to restart the game.
I've also added Character Creator support for hair bangs and noses. 3 more gain shapes have been added as well.
I've also made gaining happen more smoothly. Gains now slowly transition over a short period of time rather than just "snapping" to a new weight like it currently is. Example below.
Of course there's also a bunch of odds and ends adjusted as well that aren't worth bringing up at the moment.
As far as the future goes, I'm really hoping I can get this out before November. It would suck to have an entire year pass between major updates. I'm in no place to make any guarantees, but I'm trying my best. I want this to come out just as much as you do!
Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta finish refactoring Gretta's Grocery. See ya in a bit!
