The State of the Game - February 26, 2023
🕑 Added 2023-02-27 00:51:55 +0000 UTCHey everyone! It's been a while since I've given a non-Discord update with what's been happening with Chub Chomp Chill, so here we go!
Despite me saying that CCC might take a back seat while working on the golf game, I've near exclusively worked only on CCC since then. I keep reaching challenging points that I want to get out of the way, I suppose! Let's see what's been going on.
Customizability is the name of the game here. Ever since I've started working on the game, the game's main model has gone through 2 major iterations, and I want #3 to be the last time. As you can probably tell, rehauling takes a LOT of dev time so the less times it needs to be done, the better. I've been taking extra time on this iteration specifically because I don't want to forget any important features that would require doing yet another overhaul in the future.
While these new model features are still in the middle of being implemented code-wise, I'll still give you a quick rundown of what new things you should be able to pull off onces everything is in place:
- Over 100 different weight-related blend shapes (as opposed to the previous model's 25)
- An even wider variety of different body types
- Different features WITHIN those body types (like single or double bellies, for example)
- The addition of new facial features, like noses and eyebrows.
- The ability to move, scale, and rotate facial features on the face.
- And other stuff coming too, hopefully.
All those might only take a few lines to write in an update post, but it's taken me a lot of time so far to pull off. Doing all this also means having to go back and refit every piece of clothing (this part is still manual. The automation showed off from the recent video can't be implemented until after), refactor the character creator, and rewriting the weight system of the game. But here's hoping it'll all be worth it
I thank you all for your patience! I'll try to make these entries more consistently going forward!

I can't guarantee anything just yet, but that is indeed something I'd like to implement
Lol Face323
always glad to have more customization, I must ask if there's a planned larger size than the city? as someone into tera sized growth it'd be great having them grow on the globe (prolly starting at a small portion of a country', then up)
