I checked my Patreon account after this episode. Realized I never changed my credit card number (after it had to be changed) and rectified that after maybe 9 months of non payments. I’ll have to back pay for some truly stellar episodes.
Destin was lamenting the loss of potency when personal learned experience becomes a general rule. I don't think that's inevitable. It's down to how the rules are taught: The rule alone doesn't carry much weight, but if it's taught along with the story of how the rule came to be that's huge. "How I piloted a drone into my face" is an excellent example. Clear, memorable, and the kind of mistake you could imagine making yourself.
I've been a patreon for a little over two years, and I'm not on the list either. TBH, I didn't even know there WAS a list until now.
