FiOP Chapter 82
🕑 Added 2025-07-09 15:34:01 +0000 UTCI let them fight, making sure I avoided being trampled and run over by the cavalry. I got ten steps from the frontline before I collapsed in exhaustion. My shirt was soaked through with sweat, and I had to just sit on my back, catching my breath for longer than I’d like to admit. It was that close, I had almost just died, and besides fleeing, which would have gotten my wives killed, there was nothing I could do.
At the last moment before being overwhelmed by a fresh set of foes, a new group showed up, and each knight looked to be on the same level as Marcus, the sheriff. They were at least high uncommon, I’d guess the ones on horseback were at least a rare class. The unarmored lizardmen were fighting on par was a high level uncommon class, except they had more weak points than most uncommon monsters.
The armored lizardmen fought as if they were low rare, especially with the help of the caster lizardwomen. They functioned very similarly to actual adventuring teams. It made the fight much closer than it had any right to be, at least until another group I had never seen in town came rushing up. Where the hells were all these people coming from?
I could fight on par with uncommon, and I might be able to take one of the armored lizardmen in a one-on-one fight, just because I could outthink them, but it would be close. That’s why I was completely shocked at the ongoing fight. We were winning, thankfully, and it seemed to be the end of the monsters, finally. At least, the armored lizardmen or robed lizardwomen weren’t pouring out in similar numbers to the loincloth lizardmen.
Most of the battlefield was hidden while I lay on my back, as there were hills of corpses blocking my view, but from what I could see, we were winning. I drank down a bottle of water that one of my golems brought as I caught my breath and tried to recover as much of my stamina as I possibly could. The golems were just outmatched here. Sure, they could have possibly defeated one of the loincloth lizardmen if they worked together, but their help from the sidelines was why we could last as long as we did.
They would drag away people who fell in battle, allowing them to get healed, or bring those on the verge of collapsing a potion to keep them in combat. It wasn’t much, but it was the difference in how we managed to outlast the lizardmen. I took the short break I received to finally look at my stat changes.

Three or four of the skills were gained from my class changing to dungeon gardener, while I purchased the rest. I had already gotten all the level ten skills, it was much less, but the high amount of skills I had was incredibly abnormal when compared to how many other people had.
Now… Why the heck were my stats so high? I don’t believe you gain stats from upgrading your class’s rarity. Did the class change increase my stats? I wasn’t sure. It might have played a part, but as I watched Silk sprint passed me, slamming into one of the armored lizardmen and knocking it off its feet with a slit neck, I knew a good portion of my stats were from my wives status recalibrations.
