IM/DC Bonus Chapter 21
🕑 Added 2025-01-20 22:10:50 +0000 UTCI entered the new universe. Quickly scanning the history I muttered to myself. “It looks similar but… I’ve been wrong before.” Double and triple-checking the current news it all seemed to be above board. I looked at my watch before saying out loud. “Woah, we’re cutting it pretty close… Well, I could just rewind time but that’s always a hassle. I’d rather just stop him before he does it.”
Teleporting into the Global Defense Agency, I’d have been too late if I hadn’t slowed time down as I saw Omni-man right about to crush Red Rush’s head. I make him let go as I move Red Rush back while healing him back up to his peak. His mind is the only one who notices me as I give him a wave. I put my head right back where Omni-man’s hands were and unslow time down.
He tried crushing my head but for the first time ever, his strength wasn’t up to par. He looks confused as I wave at him. “Hi.” Squeezing down even harder he attempts to crush my head. His original idea of allowing them to deal damage so he wouldn’t be suspected is no longer valid with the wildcard in his midst. Even still, he couldn’t budge me.
I just casually throw out a punch. It wasn’t enough to kill him but it was enough to make him stagger backward. The rest of the Guardians all looked on not sure what to do as I turned to ask them. “You want me to beat him up or you got this?” I pointed behind me as Omni-man got back up and kept punching me in the back of my head. There was nothing in this universe that could harm me, if he was a thousand times more powerful his punches still wouldn’t be effective.
War Woman was the only one to respond. “Hurt him, but don’t kill him.” My smile grew wider at her command. This wasn’t the first War Woman I met, well, it wasn’t the first of any of them that I met. The female Omni-man was a fun world, but I finally found the right one. Kicking back I catch him before teleporting to where he is flung and smashing him down.
For the next five minutes, I proceeded to brutalize him over and over again, giving him as many chances as he could get out of his body before it collapsed. It had become a fun game for me to see how long each Omni-man would last, this one did pretty well but certainly not the best. I look back at the stunned expressions on their faces as I ask. “Hey… Can one of you get a hold of Cecil for me? We have a lot to talk about.”
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Cecil had me in a holding cell. I learned early on that he would literally burn the country to the ground before he let me meet him on my terms. He felt safer putting all these gadgets and whatnot around me which was fine. I didn’t plan on going against him in this universe. I had already done that a few times when I got annoyed with him.
He was kind of an idiot, most of Invincible’s greatest enemies were made by Cecil trying to turn them into weapons instead of killing them. “So, you want me to believe you appeared out of nowhere right as Omni-man went insane and attacked the Guardians of the Globe and you had nothing to do with it?” I teleported in some tacos as I asked him. “You want anything?”
“...Tacos do sound good right about now. I haven’t eaten anything all day, on account of… Omni-man going insane.” He took a bite without checking to see if they were laced with anything. That was my secret weapon. “Holy crap baskets, those are some good tacos.” Smiling I respond. “There was a food wars-style Marvel world where people fought each other by making food. Most of my stored food comes from there.”
Pulling out a full-sized brisket I asked. “Want a slice?” He tapped his hand on the table as he pretended like he wasn’t going to agree. “Fine, but I’m doing you a favor by eating your food.” I cut him a sheet and put it on a sandwich. It was so good it didn’t need condiments. This brisket was fucking bullshit. I never met a person who could eat it wi-. “Mother fucker that’s good! Where’d you get this from again?... Without cursing, it was that good.
I cut to the chase. “I’m a multiversal being. I sort of jump around from universe to universe whenever I’m bored. I’ve been looking for this one for a while though. This universe actually follows a comic book and TV show in my original universe.” His eyebrow raised as I went on. “So I know what’s going to happen before it happens, and that is before going through a few hundred different variations of this universe, all of which Omni-man’s son goes evil.”
I explained the history behind them. Who Omni-man was, the Viltrumite race, how Omni-man killed the Guardians, the upcoming disasters that could be avoided if he acted quickly enough as well as who all the villains were. I wanted Mark to have at least one good universe. It was crazy how often things didn’t work out. Half of all of the Earth’s were destroyed. The Viltrumite people deem them too much of a threat because of Mark, they just destroy the planet.
Nolan also had the tendency to pull Mark out of school. Four out of every five universes he takes him out of school and starts to train him. In every single one of these universes, Mark becomes evil. The longer he went without powers the more human he was, the younger the more Viltrumite he acted. Then there’s also Mark not getting a girlfriend, Mark being betrayed by his friend, Mark getting pushed over when he was a little child… So many reasons for Mark to listen to his father, but this wasn’t the only one where he didn’t listen to his father… But it was one of the very few where he wasn’t evil or dead.
The thing was… Should I be greedy? Did I let the Mark and Amber relationship fizzle out and let him get together with his true love… Or did I take her in this universe too? I already added a few Adom Eve’s to my harem… But did I steal the original?... Nah, she’s the least he deserves for being the only Mark who threaded the needle of being good but strong enough to defend his ideals.
His relationship with Amber was always silly to me, she acted like she was better than him and broke up with him for no reason. This was the TV show universe, I confirmed this already but looking at Amber’s blog and seeing her post pictures of her working at a soup kitchen… Yuck. So I wasn’t sure how to break them up… I could just… Send her into the future.
Or I could just wait for them to break up naturally now and hope that the world is still here in a few years while I speed through time. Yeah, the next part is going to be pretty interesting how they’ll react to Omni-man being an alien sent to take over the world. I’ll give them a few days to see how it plays out then head to Viltrum to beat them into submission.
It wouldn’t be the first time I killed their top leadership and made myself king while taking every female Viltrumite as my wives. That was a pretty boring path, they respected strength too much and folded the second they weren’t at the top… The women were tight though. Alright, so stick around, bed the other women in Invincible, head to Viltrum, kill their leadership while only taking a few of them as my girlfriends, and allow the rest to think I had won through a fluke so they don’t become pussies and the universe stays interesting.
