The Crime Syndicate sat around a table as they discussed their plans. Owlman gave the bulk of the information. “We’re still looking for Jester and Alexander, they managed to escape the trap we set for them which killed most of the members of the Legion of Justice.” Owlman didn’t really have to tell them this, they were all there but it was part of the paperwork for the few members who didn’t take part.
Johnny Quick who was one of the few who didn’t take part chimed in with a question. “What about Justice Underground? Did they show up to help?” The information was already given to all of them in packets before the meeting but Owlman knew that almost no one read them. “No, they couldn’t because Captain Super and his family, Sea King, White Martian, and Black Siren held them off while we made our attack. This is all in the report you were given before the meeting.”
Owlman stared down Johnny until he apologized. “Well, you know me. It’s better to hear it from your lips than to miss something from skimming it.” He gave a smile as Owlman continued. “Yes… We did manage to kill Emerald Knight, Bizarress, and Lonar, severely injured Lady Sonar, and captured Power Tower, Venus, and Star Sapphire for behavioral retraining.”
Johnny chimed in again with his thick Australian accent. “Well, if you don’t mind. I’d like to be around for the retraining of Power Tower… You know, make sure the retraining sticks and all.” Johnny’s girlfriend Atomica punched him in the face at the joke. Everyone knew Johnny was the cleanest out of the bunch, he was a drug addict, thief, and was fine with hurting people but the number of people he killed could be counted on both his hands. Owlman waved him off knowing it was a joke before he continued going over everything else that happened. “While we did succeed at killing several of our enemies, sadly Deadeye was slain and White Cat had her legs crippled. She’ll no longer be an auxiliary member going forward.”
Ultraman spoke up frustrated by how long it was taking. “Do I have to be here? I don’t care about this shit, that’s why I left it to you.” Owlman stared him down again before speaking. “No, you can leave.” As Ultraman stood up and started to fly towards the door a man came in carrying a mop and bucket. It would have gone unnoticed by most, except the bucket was now filled with bloody water.
The group looked on in confusion as to where all the blood came from as Superwoman asked. “You there. What are you doing?” The man looked up and everyone in the room could see that the old gray beard he had was clearly fake. He looked at the group before asking. “Who, me?” Superwoman rolled her eyes even though she felt something strange from the man she couldn’t place she still answered him. “Of course, we’re all in a meeting and Ultraman tends to laser eyes any of the staff that interrupt us. So, what are you doing here? If you don’t give us a good answer, be prepared to die.”
The man sat the mop down into the bucket as he explained like he was talking to children. “Just trying to keep my new building clean.” Owlman started to get a terrible feeling as he asked. “How did you get passed all the guards and other members?” The man scratched at the fake beard as he answered. “Oh, they’re asleep… Forever because I ripped their heads off, hence why I needed to clean up all the blood that came from that.”
Ultraman didn’t flinch at all from me saying I just killed everyone else in the building. He checked his X-ray vision before letting out a sigh of frustration. “Ugh, replacing all that fodder is going to be such a hassle. Well, I don’t care who you are. I’m going to kill you now.” As Ultraman prepared to fight, most of the members without superhuman durability heads exploded, including Owlman. The man began to chuckle maniacly. “Ahh, guess I didn’t give you enough prep time to deal with your head suddenly exploding!”
Johnny’s instincts allowed him to dodge. It left only him, Ultraman, Power Ring, and all the female members alive. The rest were killed in an attack none of them understood. All Ultraman knew was that he had to deal with the man otherwise he risked having others look down on him for being weak. As he flew towards the man, he pulled something out of his breast pocket that made Ultraman’s eyes go wide. The man had a piece of kryptonite.
Ultraman thought he got rid of every single piece, this must have been from somewhere out in space. Little did he know it wasn’t from this universe. He felt his body begin to weaken as the man moved his hand up to catch him even faster than Ultraman could in his prime, the next moment Ultraman blinked and his momentum suddenly stopped. He blinked again as his mind began to feel fuzzy, another blink was the last thing he did as the brain finally died from being ripped from his body.
As Johnny Quick tried to rush over to help then pivoted to run he felt his body be lifted into the air. The next moment he had both of his legs bent backwards breaking them before he could recover. Power Ring moved on instinct, the ring controlling Hal Jordan and feeding off his fear of the new, powerful enemy in front of him. The next moment the hand that held the ring was removed, and the tentacle-like mechanics that entered his body and controlled him pulled out along with it killing the man instantly.
He heard a voice speak in his head as Atomica was upset her husband’s legs had just snapped out of place. She had shrunk down and went straight for the man’s brain to kill him before he could do anything, it was her standard method of dealing with people and only took a few seconds but to her surprise the man had dealt with almost every single member of the Crime Syndicate in that time period.
She punched the brain which was normally enough to kill a person but the man acted as if it hadn’t done anything to him. He spoke in a tone that made everyone still alive feel sudden dread as he said. “Get out of my head right now or I’ll force you out myself.” Atomica hadn’t really fought anyone besides Ultraman who could hold his nose and sneeze her out of his head through his ears that could deal with her when she finally got in his body. Atomica was about to continue striking the brain when she felt herself violently forced out almost killing her and knocking her unconscious in the process.
Superwoman was the only one to hear him mutter to himself. “Just like Antman and Thanos, Antman would die if he grew to full size, not Thanos. Just be glad you’re pretty otherwise you’d be bits of gore right now.” Even seeing everything Ultrawoman and Superwoman still charged at him. The man finally moved, everything he did to that point he did without taking a single step. A palm pressed on each of their heads as they were forced together, the two knocked unconscious from the single blow.
Only Johnny Quick who was wailing in pain and the females were left. Gypsy Woman, Angelique, Aurora, Model Citizen, and Olympiad were left staring at the man completely terrified and confused about why he did this. He asked. “Anyone else wants to have a go?” His eyes pierce the crowd making them all draw back in fear as Gypsy Woman is the only one brave enough to ask a question.
“Why?” He smirked at the question. “Why what? Why did I do this? Well, I could say that I came here to remove some of the evil from this universe but that would be a lie… I just didn’t want Luthor to teleport to our universe and tell people I plagiarized my hero name from a villain.”
