IM/DC Chapter 182
🕑 Added 2024-08-27 13:37:16 +0000 UTCThere is a brief pause as what I said sinks in, the crowd falling silent to hear what Logan would say which allowed me to speak in a casual tone with most able to hear me. The moment what I said finally clicks in everyone's head, I think Logan is going to try and play off that he isn’t a robot before he turns, and his fist lunges at Charles.
His hand clashing against an invisible barrier I got up just in time. The man was almost cosmic in power, even in that weakened form. One punch became two, then ten, fifty, a hundred before I casually spoke again. “The robot is trying to kill Charles right now… It’s kind of weird everyone is just watching it happen.” Quicksilver was the first to react as a flurry of punches rang out.
The doppelganger backhands in his direction, Quicksilver’s speed enough to dodge but the sheer speed and power behind the blow caused a sudden gust of wind which pushed everyone back, including Quicksilver. Vines began growing up around several people's legs to keep them in place, some growing to cushion the weaker members who were flung away by the blast like Cerebella who could have been seriously injured or even killed if her brain case broke.
Even still, Quicksilver was the only one acting on the threat, and Charles stood still in quiet shock as an entire crowd watched. I sigh as I don’t want to deal with this. The most likely person that Wolverine is is Nimrod, killing him would be extremely difficult as he can regenerate himself from even a small portion being left behind like Cell from Dragon Ball Z.
I portal in my robot killer as Hestia comes through still dragging two different Mother Righteous, one around the neck while dragging the other by her hair. I hold my hands out as I say. “Trade? You get the fight I get the girls?” With a vicious smirk, she tossed both in my direction. “Deal! Put up your dooks you hairy fuck. I’m gonna slap the shit out of you.”
She rushes at him moving almost fast enough to break the sound barrier. As they punch towards each other, the shockwave shakes the entire island. I teleport them away so they don’t sink the island. “Alright, you two. Keep it civil! No eye poking or hitting below the belt. First to subsume the other wins, go!” Hestia knows what I’m doing and tackles the man through the portal dropping them safely on the moon.
Anywhere else and their fighting could cause earthquakes, tidal waves, or other natural disasters from the sheer scale of their blows. I load up a bunch of light screens so we can watch them fight as I conjure up some popcorn for myself and everyone else. Offering Mother Righteous the bowl I ask. “You want some? This is going to be a good fight.”

Hestia’s Point of View
Wham! I punch him and he flies backwards slamming into a mountain on the moon. The moondust is sharp enough to shred humans and coats him completely as he comes out the other side I meet him on the other end slamming him back down into the earth. Flying down to land a kick on the robot's spine, he finally drops the doppelganger disguise, slowly growing into a robot almost sixteen feet in size. The pinkish robot punches me before I land on him with his improved reach from his size.
We had been trading blows fairly evenly so far but with the sudden boost to his size, he was dealing damage twice as often as I was with blows twice as heavy as his Wolverine disguise could throw out. He was a reckless brawler though with no fighting form to call upon. As I get inside his reach and start going Wing Chun on his ass he doesn’t have a valid response.
Instead, he just keeps attempting to back away and make space as my rapid punches wear down his frame in one area, the piece of metal glowing before starting to distort from the rapid punches. The weakened spot is a now glaring weakness, I take advantage of that by striking him with a haymaker, my hand smashing through his body before flinging him back.
His crumpled insides slowly deformed and went back to their original shape as I flew around punching him from behind. The blow catches him off-guard flinging him in a different direction where I meet him again and do the same thing over and over again. Once again he had no counter to what I was doing to him like when I was inside his guard.
Finally, he gets so sick of losing he explodes, pushing me away and spreading his parts everywhere before he slowly starts to reform from the attack. If we were at the same level of power that blow might have hurt me but as we look at each other, his weakened body slowly reforming, mine still pristine he realizes he’s in over his head. As he goes to fly away I stop him.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Nimrod only chuckled as he spoke. “What is going to stop me from retreating for now? We fought evenly but it’s clear if I just run there is no way for you to catch me.” I could only think ‘Is this guy really a genius AI like myself? That’s quite frankly a stupid thing to think. Just because I haven’t shown any abilities to keep up doesn’t mean I don’t have them.’
I could already tell the difference between the two of us. He was a brute, with very little actual computing capabilities, somehow slightly smarter than humans but with more gaps in his knowledge. I thought this guy had adaptability but he adapts at a much slower rate than I would consider effective. We had only fought for a second or two but if he needs longer than that, is his adaptability really that powerful?
I answer him. “My creator doesn’t like to play with his food, but I do. If you run away we’ll have to end this game early, and I’d rather play with you a bit more before I win.” Nimrod began chuckling, a human emotion through a robotic Vocaloid-sounding facial plate. “You can’t do anything to me unless you can destroy me all at once.” Why would he just tell me his weakness? Is this what villains normally did to give the heroes a chance to beat them? I had no plans to use that weakness against him, he served a much more useful purpose.
That purpose was to be subsumed by me. My creator even told him that, he must have not heard or understood what he meant. I just sigh before saying. “I thought you’d be more fun to fight but you kind of suck. You’re slower, weaker, and dumber than I thought you’d be. I almost feel bad for you, it’s like I’m about to kill one of the slow kids, not a robot considered a huge threat to humanity.”
With that the self-replicating virus I planted on his body the first time we made contact began to act. The virus slowly eroding his consciousness leaving behind a husk. A husk I had no problem slipping my AI into and puppeting around, perhaps making another AI sister out of his corpse. We’ll have to see how useful he is after I take over his master molds for making robotic golems. He might have had a backup but I doubted it wasn’t separated from the systems I just gained control of… Yep, fourteen separate backups, all connected to the same network aaaaand they’re gone.
