IM/DC Chapter 180
🕑 Added 2024-08-24 12:33:05 +0000 UTCI went over to the food plates the waiters would pick up and walk around the gala, and store two telekinetically for later. As omnipotent and rich as I was, I still liked good food especially if it’s free. You could argue that in a roundabout way, it was my money/business that paid for it so it wasn’t even stealing technically. I grab a hors d’oeuvres sandwich they specifically prepared for me.
I didn’t have much say letting Emma handle most of the details but the few suggestions I made were about the food and who to invite to get on our side. That’s why most of the high-ranking members of SHIELD are here even though I haven’t worked there in weeks. Several other superheroes and many of the women I slept with to increase the eye candy of the event with several camera crews specifically trying to make mutants akin to famous actors or models with their levels of attractiveness.
Most mutants had really been going at the situation wrong the whole time. If you want to sell mutant kind to people the best way to do it is through sex appeal. Not only would people view them as less dangerous, but they might even want to be a mutant if it meant they had a chance to mingle with people as attractive as this. I bounced my way around the gala talking to people.
Captain America was protecting Director Carter and Agent Romanov. Doom was yelling loud enough to draw attention, and his mother put a hand on his arm to try to quiet him. Bruce was here with his wife(Selina convinced him when she found out she was pregnant). Peter was here with his girlfriend, and she fed him some of the deviled eggs the waiters were carrying around. It was really peaceful for the most part, which just meant that the problem was going to be even bigger when it did happen.
I noticed someone I had my eye out for. She was rail thin, almost an emaciated level of skinniness as she looked like an even more white version of Paris Hilton. Wilhelmina Kensington was twenty years old in this universe and one of the richest women left that I hadn’t slept with. The big problem was she was pretty far over on the crazy scale. She killed her father to gain access to his businesses and then was ruthless on acquiring new ones through using mutants as thugs or hitmen.
One of the original partners of Sabastian Shaw, her business took a dip when I killed him and she needed to find different help. Even now she was dressed in a more expensive dress than most people's houses cost as she pet a tiny purebred dog that vibrated and barked at all the mutants that got close to her. I started to make my way towards her, expertly avoiding the waiter walking in the opposite direction before blinking through a crowd of people dancing and summoning over a pink lilac for her.
The moment I got close several other people I recognized surrounded her, all looking very similar and I wasn’t sure if Emma knew they were here. The Stepford Cuckoos, at least three of them, most likely something bad happened to the others. Putting my arms around two I hand over the flower. “Hello there Miss Kensington. It’s good to finally meet you.” The bright, almost manic smile she gave me let me know that she would be down for ‘business talks’ at a later date.

Hestia’s Point of View
I walked my way through the party looking for Danny’s next target. This wasn’t the only thing I was doing, I was in a thousand places at once, monitoring things that needed monitoring, constantly checking the stock market for changes, spying on our enemies and allies, and putting dozens of plans into play to either make us money or cost his competition.
I didn’t have his sentiment toward people he liked and was now implementing smear campaigns against his two biggest business rivals, Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark. Both apparently had children they weren’t aware of. Bruce had a fling in college and the woman didn’t know his name. She’s been raising her son under her maiden name McGinnis ever since then. They would soon be getting a call and several emails on who the father of little Warren McGinnis is.
For Tony, it was the same, a one-night stand ended in children. One of the parents of the boy died while the parents of the little girl didn’t tell her who her real father was. Both Peter Parker and Riri Williams would be getting calls and emails as well by the end of the night. There was also Tony’s brother, Arno Stark, in the system that he never mentioned who looked to be living in a hospital, his body paralyzed from the waist down ever since the car crash that killed his parents. He was the father of none other than Peter Parker.
I was going to have to send him one of the weaker versions of the U.S.S. to cure him for good publicity. The fresh flowers on his nightstand, new books, and several more attractive than-normal nurses did show that his brother cared for him. The instability of a brother who could walk again to his company was worth curing him in the end. A group of girls bumps into me trying to spill a drink on my dress that wasn’t a dress but my body and I notice before they do and stiff-arm the main bitch, knocking her to the floor while I completely ignore her.
That was something I was still getting used to. I could hear all the insecure women around me constantly trying to put me down or diverting their partner's looks away from me while getting mad. I was truly a spectacle to behold and I wasn’t sure whether to be upset or laugh at them. Picking up a glass of champagne I down it in one go before tossing the glass up into a portal above the dumpster as the glass shatters.
The woman, not realizing I could kill her with no repercussions came up behind me attempting to throw red wine at my back. Another portal has the liquid splashing back onto herself as she begins to act like I smeared shit on her face. Even after that she still didn’t take the hint. Approaching me and grabbing my shoulder I turn around and punch her directly in the face. Dropping her instantly as I was proud of my self-control. I didn’t kill her by overexerting this time.
Her friends began to yell and cry so I portal their loud scene elsewhere. I hope they like the Amazon rainforest, as I finally see one of his targets. Mother Righteous was sitting with a man as they talked until our eyes met. Another word and the man got up and left as I made my way to her to talk. This should be fun, I wonder if her powers would work on me since I had a mysterium power core but I’m not curious enough to try.
She waits for me to begin talking with a smile on her face. I just stared at her, unblinking as the smile on her face slowly began to fade. I sat for long enough to know that she was an astral projection and she didn’t notice me tracing her connection back to her. One moment we’re staring each other down, her neutral face starting to turn into a frown, the next I’m ripping the real her through a portal as I hold her up to the fake.
“Now that you’re really here. We need to talk about your future.”
