NRaO Chapter 08
🕑 Added 2024-03-28 00:01:51 +0000 UTCIt was hard to focus on anything else as the sudden bulge in his pants drew my attention and irritation. We stare each other down before the announcer mentions. “Oh good lord! We have not one but two pseudo jinchuriki who made it to the finals. A form we’ve only seen a few times before both managed to make it to the finals without revealing them and decided to make this fight a memorable one.”
The lackluster crowd went nuts at seeing an interesting fight in the tournament. I could see Barui was afraid of me. His instincts were telling him there was a dangerous predator around. Mine was telling me to consume him, to kill him and eat him. To steal his women and take his territory. I held back those feelings once again.
The fight was already decided, there was no way he had as much chakra as me. There was no way his form was stronger than mine. Finally there was no way his form was suited for melee combat like mine was. He had grown almost to the size of an adult while I put on over two feet and two hundred pounds of weight. I was a hulking otherworldly creature while he was a normal sized furry man.
The only thing he had going for him was his poison and seal removal ability. Actually he had some thick skin as well which would probably help soak my sword blows. Speaking of which, the sword just didn’t feel right in my hands. It was far too small and with the inch thick claws on my fingers I felt it unnecessary and threw it to the side.
He did the same throwing his cleaver away. His growl full of sharp teeth showed me his weapon of choice. I started to run at him and he looked shocked at my speed. The ground sunk under my feet and he launched a lightning ball at me. I tanked it continuing to run through it, the look of surprise on everyone's face as I did so was very satisfying.
I punched him as he blocked with both hands. He was flung backwards a dozen feet flying in the air and landing with a backflip before running a different direction. His wind blade flung at me actually caused cuts which began to slowly heal. Once again I chased him running much faster. He used multiple ninjutsu towards me while I was just naturally faster.
He kept trying to retreat until he ran into something he forgot about. As he had his body facing me trying to use another ninjutsu his body suddenly stopped as he ran into my summoned snake. It bit down into his shoulder and I uppercut him in the balls full force.
The snake tried his best to hold him in place but the force was too much, ripping him out of the snake's grip. His body landed and began to twitch as the blow ripped him from groin to stomach. Slowly the intestines were sucked back inside but he didn’t move from the spot. Just as I was about to run at him and rip off an arm or leg the match was called.
The crowd went wild. Cheering and screaming at the entertaining fight. I was just too overwhelming to deal with. It was a fun fight but not something that made me even try. What drew my attention was the new term I heard. What is a pseudo jinchuriki? I needed to learn what that meant.
As the winner I was given a monetary reward comparative to finishing an S rank mission. It was enough to live off for years if I wanted but I planned to continue to work and invest in businesses in the village. As we made our way back to the village Hiruzen was uncharacteristically happy.
We tried to get him to tell us why he was so happy and eventually it came out. “I killed the gold and silver brothers. They challenged me while they were still hurt and-.” I cut him off. “The weapons! Did you get the ninja tools!” He was thrown off by how excited I was at the mention of the brothers. He sheepishly scratched his beard before saying.
“Unfortunately not. After I killed one of them the other retrieved them and sent them away with an inverse summoning storage scroll. He sacrificed his own life to keep me from getting hold of their tools. The only tool we were able to recover was the pot which the Raikage managed to take before the brother transferred the rest away.”
My stomach churned at the loss of war potential. The two were complete idiots but the tools they used were game changers for taking down strong stupid opponents. Hopefully someone stupid tries to use them and their location becomes known. It is the same thing with the seven swords. If any were to leave the village I would like to fight them for their weapons.
I needed a good weapon I could use like normal and also when I go into my half snake form. I could go full snake form but losing access to my limbs felt like a mistake. It also ate up a lot of chakra while the half form used maybe a tenth the amount. Also my scales were only slightly thicker in the full form but with a much larger body I would become a bigger target.
I asked what a pseudo jinchuriki was but Hiruzen was tight lipped about it. He explained what a jinchuriki was, that it was a mythical beast that had been placed inside a human to contain its power. Judging by that term I deduced it was a lesser form like a half snake man or tanuki. I needed to learn more about my past but the gigantic snake was still far too strong for me to deal with.
We made it back to the village and the Hokage gave us good news. We had all graduated to chunin from our performance. It felt good representing our village, all that hogwash I spewed about respecting the village was hard to actually say. My performance must have been good enough to pass though. I think I could trick people with sensory skills that tracked lies at the very least.
