Lyrics:
Used to be alive, I can still recall
Before the war, before the fall
Went to the other side, and then back again
But I have changed, and things won’t be the same
This mask is a part of me
The nightmares made me see
My blades are cutting through the night
Now I see shadows in the light
There are demons looming over you
They drag you down when you’re feeling high
Telling you lies and distort the truth
They’re as real as you and I
There are demons feeding on your fear
They take you whole when your will succumb
I know their names, I see them clear
So what have I become?
You took the easy way, but I was proud of you
I let you down, you ran me through
My faith is spent, given a new point of view
Do I repent? I’m punished living this truth
I let my spirit reap But the masks are mine to keep
My blades are cutting through the night
Now I see shadows in the light
