Our Next K-Dramas! (Results 🙌)
🕑 Added 2024-12-03 00:33:53 +0000 UTCHey guys!
Just want to re-emphasise that the poll we did for dramas almost a week back now was mainly based on gauging what you guys were most interested in, and seeing the results, I’m so glad you guys showed up in force!
In that vein, this was never about what achieved the highest votes and would get picked, but rather just seeing what we might be able to add to a watchlist soon.
As I said in this month’s watchlist, we have a pretty busy live drama season this December, so this likely won’t take effect until January 2025. These dramas are in no particular order and will be watched either together or alongside a live airing drama starting early next year.
⚡️ The dramas I chose are: ⚡️
Alice In Borderland (our first J-Drama!)
Alchemy Of Souls
Tomorrow
🙌 Other dramas high on my priority list are: 🙌
Vincenzo (I’ve read the synopsis and watched the trailers but I’m still a little unsure of this one?) This was the most voted though, and I dooooo trust the recs so 🧐
Flower Of Evil
All Of Us Are Dead
Dream High (idc if this was one of the lowest surely y’all are going to have fun)
Pinocchio
Judge From Hell (premise seems dope)

There are a lot of dramas we could watch at any one given time, but they take time, so anything that might not be up next, just know I plan on checking out most of the recommendations that were left! The main thing is that I want to have a balance of live airing stuff along with some stuff that’s finished, so we’ll try move towards that!
Also! Why is AoS back? I’ve told this story a few times already but there were 2 reasons we dropped that show:
1. I was watching a lot at the time and so we moved pretty slow with it. The drama itself I think took time to really pick up for me as well.
2. The most important one - in a conversation over dinner, my Dad inadvertently spoiled the actress change of part 2 before I knew that had happened (I love Go Yoonjung now that I’ve met her in Moving but I was so sad Somin wasn’t continuing), AND he spoiled a later plot point which I seem to have now forgotten 🙂 I’ve tried really hard to remember what it was but I remember that whole conversation putting me off so we just put it on hold “indefinitely”.
I’ve rewatched the last couple of episodes of AoS in anticipation for bringing this back, so we’re cool on that front, and we will continue from Ep. 9! The reactions to the show (1-8) will be posted over here over December and January as I removed them so people wouldn’t be confused ☺️
Anyway! That’s about it y’all! Moral of today’s post: don’t get your parents into K-Dramas because they WILL yap and spoil you 🥲 My Mum and Dad have watched like 200-300 dramas now (way more than me) and so we just avoid the topic altogether LMAO

AHHHHH I can't wait for AoS!!! I've missed it sooo much. Excited to check out some other dramas that weren't on my radar as well but I've heard about in passing.

Listen... Vincenzo. I felt the exact same. I read the synopsis and thought "What?! This sounds like it's going to be dumb." But I watched the first couple of episodes and it was pretty good. Much better than I was expecting. So just keep an open mind 😁

Lets go! Looks like we are going on a drama buffet.👍💛🍓

So excited for this whole drama lineup, but especially Tomorrow OMG 🥹

When it comes to Vincenzo everyone is recommending it because its directing is masterful, so everyone loved it lol... it's crazy and fun basically. In general it's not one of my all time favorites, but it's very high up there and I will always recommend it. Just had to say it hahaha... when it comes to one of my all time favorites then Flower of Evil for sure... I'm happy you'll watch it at some point!

This one's for you Jana! 🫡 Haha but nah seriously I peeped it and it's rated highly and the premise does seem a bit 👀 so we'll get there eventually! And also good comparison to The Trunk then! I'm really enjoying what I've seen so far so that'll be exciting!

Very nice Yaoma! Excited for this!

Gotcha!

I’m so happy flower of evil made the list! I’ve been waiting for another drama with the same type of vibe and “the trunk” is giving me a very similar vibe so far (I haven’t finished it only watched ep1 😅). They’re obviously not the same but the vibe is definitely there so I can’t wait to see you react to it 🥰 also super excited or Alice in borderland!

YESS!! Alice in borderlands!!! I forgot how many times I've rewatched this show with reactors but I'm glad you're checking it out, same with Vincenzo.

Vincenzo definitely has comedy and is, I would say tongue in cheek, but it balances the more serious moments.
LKTV 록희 ロッキー
Really excited for that! And yeah I've heard the same for Vincenzo. I've also heard Vincenzo can be really over the top unserious and then serious too so I'm a little confused by what people seem to say haha. It's highly rated but...polarising? Idk lmao

Yessir! I know it wasn't highly voted and doesn't have a whole lot of interest in it, but the teasers and the synopsis looked so good
LKTV 록희 ロッキー
Yeah I've heard it's awesome man! Also heard it's quite long so it might be a like "once every now and then" thing, but I'd love to check it out too

Yeah man! Based off a manga and has an anime adaptation too! In October I was in a bookstore checking out the manga and the saleslady was trying to talk me into it lmao. I liked the synopsis but didn't buy because it was so expensive, but then I found out there was a drama adaptation!

Alice in borderland is my shit and with season 3 announced. Its based off a manga to

Oh, would love to see your reaction to Reply 1988 one day. I have't seen many people reacting to that one. It is such a good series.

Tomorrow?? Are you kidding me! I’m so happy 🥲
Christopher Clendening
Alice in Borderlands and Tomorrow are both nuts in a good way. Vincenzo is good, just know it moves a little slower due to the episode count.
