The shadow person one has happened several times with my sister. Unfortunately we shared a room so I started freaking out too even though I didn’t see it (because I was sleeping. She screamed and turned her lamp on which would wake me up).

Shadow in the corner? Sleep paralysis wendigo came to visit. Spending a night alone in a strange, creepy place? Nope. Every slightest noise would scream "this is how I die" at me.

I've tried waking up to what I thought was the shadow of a person. That was very scary so i go with the first answer.

As someone with a neurological disease that causes sleep paralysis... the shadow person would just piss me off. Black eyed kids though while I'm cognizant? Nope nope nope.
