November Preview #1 - Mycena Mortifera Part 2

Before we start, we’re pleased to announce the winner of December’s community vote - y’all made your voices heard, and you’ll be seeing the Plague Cult! We’ve got some ideas in mind for this set, but let us know what you’d like to see in the comments!
Now, let’s dive into those Mushrooms! If you’re new to us, you might have missed the first Mycena Mortifera Release, check it out here.
Fungal Knight
We had so much fun with the chunky fungal knight in part 1, we couldn’t resist making a second! This tall and lanky warrior is intended to stand as an asymmetric mirror to our lonesome lumpy pal - this pair together should serve as an extremely intimidating encounter!
Mycelial Host
Above all else, the Mortifera Fungus wishes to spread. As such, it bends the anatomies of it’s many thralls towards this singular purpose. The Mycelial Host is a thrall, remade into living artillery.
Mortifera Flesh Spores
Made up of the remains of Fungal Thralls, hands, spines, heads and yet more unrecognizable anatomy, the Flesh Spores are skittering and wilful vectors of the Mortifera’s contagion. These fast-moving clusters will hurl themselves at the Fungi’s prey, forcibly filling them with spore-matter to spread the infection.
Fruiting Body
Echoing the Mycelial Shambler from Part 1, the Fruiting Body is another construct, built of the rotting corpse-stuff upon which the Mycena Mortifera feeds. This particular entity is filled to bursting with Flesh Spores, which we’ll see in just a moment!

You know, you had these amazing releases like the pirate ship with a fitting crew, overloaded with stories just by looking at it. Or the horse wagon from the penitent sinners release with all the creepy figures walking/riding along. Or the escaping prisoners or the witch-cursed villagers. Those releases were highly individual and told stories that everyone could follow and I could even use them for multiple adventures. And I don't want to complain that you don't work hard or that you don't love your job. This time, I just see a knight with a mushroom hat and a thin worm. This is neither frightening, nor disturbing nor "just cool to look at in my collection" nor can I use this in many/any games. You had a great mushroom release with evil shrooms and some organic mutations. Maybe I'm judging too fast, but the concept graphs tell me that I should sit this release out (after being with you for exactly 3 years).

That's unfortunate Theo, what is it particularly that you feel these embody which make them antithetical to your being able to weave them into your story/setting? Actually, perhaps it'd be best to continue this over on the Discord, I'm more than happy to brainstorm with you if you're up for it.

Sorry Guys, this release is just not for me. The knight looks just like a regular knight and the spore worm is not so interesting to me. It also looks like it might break too easily. I am looking for awesome or creepy monsters that I can use to emphasize my DnD plays. I can't work with these.
