Hello!
This is a mod that I've periodically come back to and tried to finish for QUITE a while and I've finally gotten it to work! This mod adds a wide selection of wings for fairy sims that are actually animated, without altering the sim rig or overriding any game files. Beyond that, you have the ability to customize them even more with visual effects, size adjustments, movement patterns, and additive colors! I must stress that these are NOT CAS ITEMS and are not found in Create-A-Sim, but rather added with special interactions.

Application
These wings are not CAS items and therefore are NOT applied in Create-A-Sim.
However, if you enter "testingcheats true" into the cheat console and shift+left click your sim, you will find a pie menu called "Wings", where you can select "Enable Animated Wings". This will allow you to click your sim, navigate to the "Wings" menu, and choose "Select Wings", which will open a list of all wings you have installed. From there, you can choose which wings you want to give your sim! Once your selection is made, they'll be applied to the sim and then you'll be able to further customize their visual effects, color, and more.
To remove the wings temporarily, you'll have the option to "Hide Wings", which will keep them hidden until you select the "Unhide Wings" interaction. Or, if you want to remove the wings permanently, you can select "Purge All Wings", which will delete any wings the sim has saved to them as well as any wings they're wearing.
(If you have my Fairies vs. Witches Mod, which is now updated to work with this mod, fairies will automatically have the option to select wings and they will be applied and removed whenever the fairy channels or represses their magic!)
Customization
Once your sim has their wings, you'll be able to click the wings (not the sim) and choose from a selection of customization options!
Color - There is a wide array of color choices that will add a hue on top of the wing texture. Some colors are very vibrant, while others will only add a subtle tint.
Effects - There are several visual effect options to give your wings a magical feel, from dark tendrils to flames or sparkles!
Size - Pretty straightforward, there are three size options: Average, Grand, and Petite.
Speed - You'll have the ability to choose from a selection of movement patterns. These will make the wings flap quickly and sporadically, slow and steady, fast like a hummingbird, and more.
Ages
These wings are available for Infant-Elder life stages and are applied the same way for each stage. Each variation of wings available has a separate package for Infants/Toddlers, Children, and Teens-Elders.
Wings for NPC Sims
Animated wings can be applied to NPC sims as long as you've enabled "testingcheats"! Just shift+left click the NPC, navigate to the "Wings" pie menu, and choose "Select Wings". This will bring up the wing selection menu, where you can choose the style and variation. From there, you'll be able to customize the color, effects, size, and speed just like your household sims, as well as remove their wings from the cheat menu if you decide you don't want them to have wings or you want to change the style.
Installation
Installation is pretty much the same as my other mods:
1. Extract the files from the zip folder and place all folders into your game's Mods folder. This is usually found in (C:\Users\*NAME\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods). I also recommend placing all files DIRECTLY in the mods folder if you have issues getting the mod to work, especially the .ts4script file.
2. Done!
Compatibility
This mod doesn't alter the sim rig or override any game files, so it shouldn't conflict with any other mods. HOWEVER, I cannot guarantee that the wings will work perfectly with every mod, especially the Wicked Whims mod. There shouldn't be any game-breaking bugs, but mods like that may interfere with wings staying attached to sims who engage in "enhanced woohoo". 😂
Permissions
If any of you wish to create retextures of my animated wings, you are absolutely allowed to do so! As long as you clone your retextures from my wings and do not remove the custom tags, they will show up in the wing selection menu.
Also, if you post your retextures for public use, make sure to include a link to this mod. Without my mod installed, retextured wings WILL NOT WORK.
Future Plans
As always, I have plans to expand on this mod in the future. I'd like to add more styles, visual effects, animations, differently rigged wings such as bird or "angel"-like wings, bat wings, etc.
I also have plans to create other animated body parts, such as wagging tails for werewolves, pegasus wings for horses, tentacles for mermaids, etc.

I am still getting the tuning error for animating wings. Whenever the exception appears, all interactions in my household cancel out - wing-related or not. While I know you have a ton of big mods so updates take time, so this is not a call for rush (he has a ton of his plate as it is), is there any knowledge or estimate as to when an update will be coming out for this error?

I'm having an issue with the wings. When I try to cheat to select another glade fairy's wings, the action just keeps disappearing. can you please fix it ? its slightly annoying cause I love making my fairy wings match their power sources. thank yous

do i keep having issues with my animatedwings tuning all of a sudden the LE's are coming back with a 10-30% cause most of the time but sometimes it comes back with 100% ive also been having issues with my fairy families not responding to commands anyone else have this issue?

hi! I love your mods first off and I have a bug that's really bothersome. I choose the ethereal effects on my fairy's wings and when I try to pick a different effect it just overlaps and when I stop channeling her magic they stay on her. can you possibly make a fix?

Sorry for the late reply! I just noticed yesterday there was, indeed, no issue with the wings not appearing. They just appeared by themselves after some time, so I guess that has always been "the issue" (I had to wait for the game to load the wings) Thanks again for your splendid work!

Got it. It's a real pity, though :( Btw, if you want, I could convert the wings back into CAS items, so they can atleast be applied as static object during WW. Just let me know, I'm happy to help! Also, I had downloaded again the FvW mod when this one came out, but I still got the issue. I'll try to redownload it again and I'll let you know if it persists EDIT: Yup, the issue still persists

As for the Fairies vs. Witches mod issue, you need to update the FvW mod in order for the mods to work together. I should have mentioned that, but it was updated the same day this mod was released. :)

Hi! Unfortunately, I think the issues with WW are probably not able to be reconciled at this point in time due to the nature of the mods and how they parent objects to sims. Even so, it would probably require coordination between them to make them work properly together.

Hey there! Thanks for the update :D I wanted to share my feedback about how the wings work with WW. I noticed they disappear when they start any interaction, but I guessed you already knew that. However, when a winged Sim takes a shower with another Sim, the wings don't disappear at all: on the other hand, they work exactly as intended. Probably, that depends on the fact the wearingwings buff isn't reapplied during WW (I tried forcing it manually with MCCC, but it doesn't work) It can also depend on the fact that, for me, wings don't disappear/reappear automatically when channeling/repressing fairy magic: when repressing it, I have to reset the Sim to make them disappear, when channeling it (and also after WW has ended), I have to click on Show Wings to make them reappear. Maybe this is also related to the fact the wearingwings buff isn't autonomously added/removed? Hope you find my feedback useful :D Keep up the splendid work!

Can this be used without the FvW mod? I got all the options and the choosing menu looked right being able to see the graphics but when the sim was supposed to be wearing wings I didn't see anything in game

I have a winter fairy and discovered that I think you forgot to disable the wings for snow accumulation since they are objects so there's a snow texture showing on the wings when outside in the snow.

A couple of ideas - first if there was any way to tweak the height of the wings on the sim with say an offset +/- number against default. Second, I'd reeeeally love to get the insect wings animated from the original FvW wings. The new dragonfly is close, but not quite. I'll have to see how hard it is to do myself. :)

You can choose as many or as little as you want. :) I’ll be adding more sets of wing designs in the future, but you can pick and choose which ones you want to use.

Hey there! If you add a copy of the animated wings package to your Sims4Studio’s Mods folder, you’ll be able to select them from the list of objects to clone. I recommend creating a “Selective Clone” and choosing to copy all swatches because I noticed the program has issues loading textures for this object otherwise. Hope that helps! 😁
