* * *
“Awh, little toy. How do you feel? Weak? Helpless? Is it because you’re all tied up? Hmm?” You struggled against your bonds as the villain gently paced before you. “It’s okay, toy-”
“I’m not your toy!” The strength of your voice surprised you. “I’m the defender of this city!”
You heaved against the bonds, ready for them to snap under your might. Instead, you felt them tighten, pulling your arms and legs back to the table. Your nemesis laughed. “Oh, no, no, no toy. Not this time. This time I injected you with enough of the weakening serum.”
They stepped away, still talking. “It should be more than enough for the process to complete. And when it does, why, then you won’t have much choice but to be my toy.” You heard a switch flick, and a humming begin. Lights appeared either side of your head.
“What are you doing, fiend?” You called out into the dim light surrounding you, and were startled when the table began to rotate, until you were facing the ceiling.
“Just getting you more comfortable, toy.” They reached up, and pulled a screen down before your eyes.
You had to admit, you were confused. This new villain wasn’t exactly fighting you. They weren’t trying to blackmail you, or anything. The humming grew louder, as the lights either side of your head got brighter. “Hey, what-” That was all you managed to say.
Then the humming peaked, and you felt something hit either side of your head. You felt lightheaded almost instantly. Woozy. Dizzy. “There we go toy. Let me just zap those thoughts away. How about some TV?” With a click, the screen before your eyes filled with a spiral.
They laughed as you let out a soft murmur. “That’s it. Toy. Defender of the city, what utter rubbish. You’re my toy. And when I’m done with you, you won’t remember anything else. But that’s okay! It’ll feel really good to be my toy. I promise. You’ll get to do whatever I want you to do.”
