[Merman Daniel~๐ง๐พโโ๏ธ๐] - Mermay Special

Perhaps you've heard about Mermay or seen some cool artwork floating around social media. If you haven't, no worries! It's basically a monthly challenge where people draw all kinds of mermaids, mermen, mer... people?โeither daily, weekly, or at whatever pace fits their schedule. Some folks (myself included) forget about the challenge every year and then feel like itโs too late to even make a proper illustration. And thatโs totally fine! Except this year, I actually managed to create an illustration featuring the handsome Daniel in his lionfish-merman form! Doesn't he look cool? ๐
The lionfish became my favourite fish the first time I saw one in an aquarium. Back in my home country, I never had the chance to see one in real life, so it was a pretty cool experience to encounter one after moving to Germany. They honestly look so majestic and cool, and the shapes are just so inspiring! Of course, I had to choose it as the basis for Danielโs mer...sona. Iโm definitely not the first person to design a merperson based on a lionfish, but I had so much fun trying to make it look great combined with one of the handsomest OCs I have. โจ

Absolutely! Daniel was an easy pick when deciding which character to draw, hehe. I suppose he gives me the "fresh" vibes more than anyone else. And the lion fish tail really suits him! ๐

The world need definitely more mermen. Especially Daniel seems to be made for this. He's so gorgeous in the lionfish-merman form. Also I really love the multiple fins here, the colors and the stripe pattern. ๐ Which sea do I have to throw myself into to probably meet him? ๐
