Makes me wonder how these dogs would view the dogs we know today if they ever met. Would they see them as lesser animals like we do with chimpanzees?

All I can say is that you have to have some patience. The characters has the exact same questions and worries about the sky gods, and you will have to wait for the story to unfold

And how they’ve interacted with regular humans. I guess they just decided that with humans arrival, sentient dogs won’t have a future on Earth

The Sky Gods are humanoids. Humans back on Earth are regular humans. The gods aren't exactly "playing" with evolution.

The arrival of humans on Earth is the reason why the Asmundr family had to flee to Aedra. It was shown in the prologue.

Yes. In asmundr, the first comic, it was revealed that their canine ancestors were altered by the sky gods, giving them human intelligence, speech, weapons etc. domestic dogs didn’t exist in that timeline yet as it was based on the time before the modern man populated that area of the world.

What do you mean? It is like this in the comic. In the bonus pages where one can see the genitals more clearly it is how it´s portrayed in the tutorial. Yes, the events and evolution in Home is based on the 30th Century BC, it's 3000 BC where the first early agriculture appeared in Africa, and sumerian writing took form, the writing present in the comic.
