🕑 Added 2023-05-26 00:16:29 +0000 UTCHello! Apologies for the radio silence again. It just kinda happens when I'm trying to figure out a lot of things, something I'm trying to work past. This month as most of you know was suppose to be the launch of Smol Kobold Garden.
Smol Kobold Garden was suppose to be done by April fools day as a not really a joke kind of joke, and to also be a small fun thing to play around with. As this version I hastily put together was nearing completion, I felt the state of it was quite lacking for what many may expect from a chao garden successor. I don't want people to be deterred from what Smoll Kobold Garden and even the regular Kobold Garden will become, so while not every feature you expect is currently present, I've been working on trying to get the basic foundations for all features so you can see the seeds and the start of those features in this first build.
I've delved deep into all current knowledge humankind has been able to gather about the inner workings of chao garden which is quite comprehensive. To put it simply, chao have the deepest lore. It even gets to a point where you need some understanding of genetics to fully wrap your head around. In this quest I've been trying to gather all elements needed, and what will be needed in the future. Things like a chaos stats, their name and current mood, to their parents traits that are passed down. While most of this stuff wont be used yet, the importance of having all this all now instead of later is so there wont be a time where when I add stuff, that it leads to old saves becoming incompatible. Losing your bolds to incompatible save files would be the worst so I'm trying my best to avoid that scenario.
That being said I'm proud of whats been done so far, many of the systems that have been implemented feel robust and I'm confident in a release sometime soon, this June.
Oh, and I've also been working on a discord server which I hope to have up before the release so we have a place to chat about the game when it's out too!
