They were deep in Mistral, too deep for much to threaten them, and so watch duty was more of a means of ensuring discipline, part of Raven’s insistence that the Tribe not get cocky. They were strong, but strength bred overconfidence… and that was how strong Tribes fell.
Still, boredom had a threat of its own. Scanning the horizon, Vernal idly wondered if there wasn’t anything else she could be doing right now. Or if there was anyone else she could bully into doing this…
“Vernal!”
Speak of the devil…
“Hey Jaune!” she said as she turned, sizing up her fellow tribesman to see what mixture of peer pressure and bullying would be needed to get him to take over for her. Oh, it wasn’t like that—she picked on Jaune, yes, but it was all in good fun.Or, at least, she made it clear that she was the only one allowed to pick on Jaune. “Whatcha up to?”
He took a moment to square his footing and make a nervous swallow. Oh no, she knew what was happening here…
“I want to challenge you to a spar!”
Vernal sighed. Jaune was a good guy, and she loved hanging out with him—he was the one who introduced her to how awesome books could be!—but he also had a bit of a complex about being adopted into the tribe as a child. They’d picked him up while traveling through Vale for… something Raven wanted to do about a man who’d presumably wronged her, but they found the little Jaune as the sole survivor of a Grimm massacre. Raven saw something in him and adopted him. A lot of the other members of the Tribe always saw Jaune as a bit of an outsider, but for Vernal, he was as true a member as she was, since they’d always been friends as they grew up together.
“Jaune...” Vernal sighed, “It’s good that you don’t give up, and really, it’s impressive that you’re so willing to get your ass kicked, but there comes a time when you’ve gotta admit that having me kick you in the balls again is not going to make you a better warrior!”
But he shook his head. “No, Vernal, I… I have to do this. There’s too much at stake for me to back down now!”
Oh, hell…
She had, jokingly, made a bet with Jaune after their last fight left him literally pinned to the wall, one of her ring blades catching his shirt on the uppercut and leaving him dangling helplessly. After she finally let him down, she, jokingly, offered Jaune that she’d take his virginity if he could beat her next time… only for Raven to basically appear out of nowhere and, with a judgmental eye leveled on them both, said, “Do not forget that your words are binding,” and then… just disappeared again like some kind of forest ghost.
Man, she was awesome…
But with that context, she really shouldn’t have been surprised that Jaune would throw himself into his training at double time, and that he’d be so eager to challenge her to a rematch. And really, she couldn’t blame him. She was hot, and they’d had a long relationship as friends… well, if “friends” meant her trying to train him in vain while he followed her around like a puppy dog.
But she couldn’t just keep letting him get away with thinking he had a chance. In the Tribe, strength was everything, and that meant reputation mattered. It wouldn’t do if Jaune kept acting like she was beatable, even if it was for the understandable motivation of getting to bang her.
“Okay Jaune,” she felt her lips curl into a smirk, “We’ll do this… but unarmed combat.”
Jaune paled a little at that. It wasn’t that his fistfighting was so much worse than his adequate swordsmanship, no. It was that, with weapons, fights were mostly driven by aura reserves, and there was a clear point to stop. But when it was just kneeing Jaune in the balls and then whaling on him with her fists until he cried uncle… she kept going until he cried uncle. And as Jaune took up his fighting stance, she made a point of slowly lowering her eyes to his groin, reminding him exactly where she’d be bringing the pain.
His knees quivered ever so slightly, and a quick glance upward told her Jaune picked up her meaning. With a grin, she sprang forward, taking an aggressive response she knew, now that his manliness was on the line, he had to attempt to meet head on. Mistake. It was a feint, and as Jaune threw a punch—hell, it was a nice, solid punch, he was really improving!—she juked backwards, dodging around his fist and closing the distance between the two of them.
But Vernal had to give Jaune some credit: he didn’t fold when the first swing went wrong. Instead, he tried to catch her with a strike from his elbow, a smart move that he just wasn’t quick enough with to really get her. Particularly unfortunate because she was already in place to get him with a rapid punch in the gut. And some more credit was due in that—he took the punch well. He was learning, and had improved miles beyond what he used to be at, but…
It just wasn’t enough.
Pulling back, she baited Jaune into lunging forward again, but this time, he didn’t take the bait, so instead, she made her own charge, forcing him to lurch to the side to try to catch her, but in doing so...
She grinned. Jaune’s most key defense had slipped, and with his legs spread and her knee right in position, she raised it up for a mighty-
CLANG!
Vernal’s jaw dropped as pain shattered her focus as her knee met steel, evidently, an armored cup had been what gave Jaune the confidence to challenge her this time.
“You got predictable!” Jaune cried as his fist raced forward to catch the stunned Vernal across the jaw and crumple her like a sack of potatoes.
LINE BREAK VERNAL
Lying on her bed, nursing her bruises (when did Jaune learn to hit that hard?) Vernal appreciated the pampering she was receiving from the victor of their duel. No one else in the Tribe would offer such softness to a defeated foe, particularly one who now had a claim on her body, but Jaune… Jaune was just like that.
As he apologetically fetched her another cold compress for her knee, Vernal marveled at how little he fit in with the Tribe, even though he’d lived with them longer than he ever had with anyone else. Really, it was a wonder Raven hadn’t stepped in, hadn’t made it clear that there were certain expectations of behavior. That the strong ruled, that the weak were expected to either submit or die.
But there was something impressive in being such an open counter to the Chief’s highest values and still being allowed to live in the Tribe. To prove his value, even as it seemed so meager to everyone else.
He… he really was special, wasn’t he?
She’d known him for years, ever since he was the little crybaby who’d been adopted into the tribe. She’d beaten up the bullies who’d picked on him—she was looking to consolidate her power, and he gave her an excuse to openly challenge anyone who’d go after the boy “under her protection”—and he’d followed her around like a duckling ever since. She taught him how to fight, and even as much as he struggled with the Tribe’s expectations of strength, he was persistent beyond any of them. He’d grown so much, and he still had so much potential within him. He would be a great warrior someday and…
And that wasn’t what she was seeing when she looked at him. As Vernal’s breath caught in her throat, she realized that when she looked at Jaune, she didn’t see power and dominance, but… but… she saw something else in his resilience. His kindness, his sweetness, the softer traits that the Tribe could not take from him, no matter what they put him through. The way he was taking care of her right now was how he… how he’d always treat her. He used to read her stories as a child before he… he taught her to read, too. Had introduced her to so many wonderful things and…
Oh hell.
She was in love with Jaune.
She was in love with Jaune!
This whole time, her teasing promise of- that was just her way of trying to commit herself to-
Ohhhhhhhh, this was a lot. A lot to take in, especially a lot to take in while in her tent, alone with Jaune, as he tended to her on her bed! When- when she was obligated, by her word, in the sight of the Chief, to offer him her body! And-
And…
And why was she so anxious about this? Really, she almost had to laugh at how soft she was behaving, becoming flustered by the prospect of getting what she wanted, of having Jaune as hers, all wrapped up in honoring her word and rewarding him for his clever strategy against her, for proving his strength to them all!
As Jaune returned with the cool washcloth, she waved it away. “I’m feeling much better Jaune,” she purred, flexing her knee… by raising her leg up high.
“Oh, your aura’s taking care of it? That’s a-”
“It’s not aura...” she said, a sensual trill on her tongue.
“Oh?” he asked, not picking up the hints she was dropping.
“Nope,” she shook her head, grinning, “I think what made me feel better… was all you, Jaune. Being such a gentleman, such a sweetheart…”
Jaune blushed. Had she seriously never noticed how handsome he was? Subconsciously, she must have, but right now… right now she was very much appreciating his boyish good looks as he mumbled, “It’s… it’s nothing...”
“Not nothing,” she said, breathing heavily, “I have to thank you for it. Do you have any idea what I could do…?”
Finally, her meaning came through, as Jaune’s eyes went wide, his mouth opened as if to say something, but with no words forthcoming. She had an idea of a better use for those lips...
“Jaune…” she said, her eyes glittering with hungry desire, “My words are binding… it’s the way of our tribe…”
Before she gave him a chance to put his foot in it, she reached up and seized him by the shirt before pulling him into her bed, right on top of her. And to his credit, when Vernal kissed him, Jaune was not caught by surprise. He met her lips with his own, and Vernal felt the sizzle of passion between them simply… simply burst into life! Like fireworks, their kisses seemed to go off with a bang, each one far more potent than Vernal was expecting, and they sent her for a loop.
But now, the two of them were making up for lost time, frantically making out on the bed. But as Jaune pawed at her, Vernal could feel his weight on top of her… and that made her shiver in pleasure, feeling him press down on her, making her feel… small against Jaune’s impressive frame.
And more so, there was a lot of rubbing coming into play, the two of them squirming and grinding against each other as wild impulses to kiss and grope and knead driving their actions. Realizing their long relationship that they only just now realized was inevitably building towards what was now, finally becoming real, they moved with an almost frenzied need more than anything coherent.
She wasn’t sure which of them started undressing first, or whether they started undressing themselves or each other. All Vernal knew was that she could hear buttons pop off as her vest and Jaune’s shirt were ripped open, revealing his bare chest and her bra-clad tits—the bra, of course, quickly being shed by one of them snapping the clasp. It was a frenzy, a whirlwind, interspersed with kisses and licks, a hickey she left on his right pec and bolts of pleasure from him catching her left nipple between his teeth. And all through it, she could feel beneath his pants, his shaft getting bigger and harder against her slit, getting wetter and wetter in return.
Panting with need, she couldn’t let it be delayed any longer. Hooking her thumbs around his waistband, she yanked down his pants, hearing the fabric tear as it gave way to her strength. She could have undone his belt and spared his clothes, but she was not willing to wait. And as she pulled his pants down… oh, my…
Well, well, well, for all the attention she’d given Jaune’s groin in pummeling him, she’d never realized why he was so vulnerable to attacks down there. He was massive, simply enormous, to the point it was a wonder that Jaune had enough blood to stay conscious while he had that thing up, bobbing like a club he’d strapped to his hip. Licking her lips, she looked to Jaune with eager eyes, excited to experience what it was like on the other foot: when Jaune’s groin was pummeling her.
Her shorts came off without a second thought. There were no words exchanged—what could be said that they weren’t already feeling?—as she spread her legs wide, revealing her glistening pussy. Vernal was a tomboyish girl, one who’d always eschewed anything feminine as weak, but now, bound by her words to offer her body to Jaune, revealing her womanhood to him… it felt incredible. She was… no, he was about to make her his woman. Taking her fingers, she spread her labia and invited him to come right in.
It didn’t take anything more than that.
Jaune bore down on her in a flash, his cock barely having to push between her lips before it went right in. Vernal’s mouth opened into a perfect O, a silent cry on her lips as she felt Jaune’s cock simply split her open. But she was so wet, so welcoming, it just slid right in, pushing her open as it made its way deep inside her.
She could feel all his weight thrust to a single point, penetrating her far, far deeper than anyone had ever taken her before. Vernal was no virgin, but no man or woman before Jaune had ever demonstrated such strength before! Real strength, strength she’d never realized Jaune carried within him before now. He growled and roared, animalistic noises that she met with her own mewls and cries, her fingernails raking his back as he slammed down into her. He was so big, so long, that Vernal could feel him reach his cervix, and that kind of contact was like nothing she’d ever felt before.
She came. She howled. She wrapped her legs tight around Jaune’s back and kept him fucking her without pause as she milked him for his seed. They weren’t done. She’d claimed him, had finally taken Jaune as her mate, and she wouldn’t be finished until the two of them were wholly bonded together as one.
She sank her teeth in his shoulder, the sudden pain of the bite being the straw that broke the camel’s back as Jaune cried out… and released inside her. More than released, he shot load after load, bucking and pumping and filling her up as he came. Oh, she could feel it flooding into her, warm and sticky and overwhelming her until it began to spill out!
Releasing him from her teeth and her death grip, Vernal began to giggle as she relaxed. Jaune groaned, withdrawing from her pussy and letting his overflowing cum just ooze out of her. It felt… felt so goooooood...
Lying on the bed, feeling Jaune’s warmth against her, hearing his slow, steady breaths as his chest rose and fell… it was a magical moment, an absolutely heavenly moment of just taking in the reality of the two of them… being an item now. It was amazing it had taken them this long—they’d grown up together as the closest friends, he obviously had a thing for her just as she clearly saw how hot he was getting… but thinking about that…
Rubbing her thighs a little, feeling his cum dry and cool on her bare skin… she wasn’t quite done yet. Not at all, really.
“Wanna do it… again?” she asked him.
Jaune took a moment to catch his breath before nodding… until he paused again. Nuzzling him close, Vernal whispered, “Anything you want, baby, after what you just did to me… you can have anything you want...”
She felt Jaune’s fingers lovingly stroke her back as he asked, “Would you… would you mind if we did it… really romantic and loving?”
She glanced up to look Jaune in the eyes as she smiled. “Of course.”
LINE BREAK RAVEN
Sipping her tea, Raven attuned her senses to the air around her. A Maiden trick she’d figured out, a reminder that her powers were more than just hurling lightning bolts and smashing foes apart, the kind of cleverness that eluded most Maidens. But she could feel the very faint disturbances and attune herself to the ones she wanted to hear. Not Shay’s empty boasting, not the creak of a wagon wheel being attended to, but… ah, yes…
“OH JAUNE YES, YES, YES!”
“Oh, fuck, fuck, oh fuck, Vernal, oh fuck!”
“So good- you’re- so- fucking- GOOD!”
Ahhhh… young love.
There was a secret Raven concealed from the whole world, even more closely than her status as the Maiden of Spring. There was no limit to what Salem or Ozpin might do to kill her or claim her for her secret power, but a threat on her life, the most vile tortures imaginable… that was one thing.
It’d be another thing entirely if anyone discovered that Raven was an obsessive matchmaker. The utter shame would destroy her, even worse than how badly her efforts to get Tai and Summer to finally realize their feelings for each other went. The shame of people discovering her hidden side, seeing anything other than the murderous badass who terrorized the populace, independent of any faction! She’d sooner die than allow it…
But she couldn’t bear to watch Jaune and Vernal just… stumble around each other like that! Everyone knew the two of them were destined for each other, it was the most obvious thing in the world! Except to them! What, was Raven supposed to sit around and do nothing while their blatant, mutual attraction just kept staring the whole Tribe in the face?
She’d been in her corvid form, quietly watching the two of them in one of their spars—with Vernal never wondering why Jaune always challenged her, and Jaune never wondering why the notoriously short-tempered Vernal so patiently explained everything to him—watching their relationship simply blossom in heart-melting sweetness… and headache-inducing obliviousness, until Vernal suddenly made an offhand remark that spoke her true feelings.
To be a bandit meant to know the true value of opportunity, and, striking like lightning, Raven made her move. Took advantage of Vernal’s hero-worship to put them in a scenario where she couldn’t back down, for fear of not impressing her Chief. Then she just had to appear right in front of Jaune while he was alone, looming over the fire like a pagan goddess of witchcraft, and give him a cryptic hint to use his true strength against her before disappearing like so much smoke. He was a smart one, and she trusted he would find a way to use brains over brawn and claim his victory. And then from there, she just had to sit back, let the fireworks happen, and then look forward to their adorable coming relationship and a serene confidence that the two of them together would make excellent future leaders for the Tribe. Vernal’s strength and Jaune’s wisdom wed together would ensure a good future.
But… more importantly… they were just… just… just so cute together that Raven almost had to squee if it wasn’t for her utmost commitment to upholding her image! But they were just her darling little lovebirds, childhood friends that were just destined to be lovers! And as she let her hearing drift away from their lovemaking, she knew that they were certainly giving each other enough pleasure, the first taste of many, many happy years together.
Ah, well… now that her adopted daughter was taken care of, perhaps she ought to head to Vale and see to her biological daughter. Oh, she had no delusions that she was anything other than a horrible mother, but it just wouldn’t be right if she didn’t find Yang a special someone of her own…
