The whole bickering segment between Cana and Aquarius + Lucy saying they're kinda similar is a reference to Cana and Aquarius having the same voice actress

I mean Aquarius will only 20% of the time actually do something, but I don't know what she'd have done against his Figure Eyes. I'm sure there's more than a few ways that she'd theoretically be able to work around it, but only a spirit like Loke who specialises in combat would be able to strategically figure something out in the moment. Besides, it isn't a life or death situation for Lucy either so Aquarius never would've even begun to take it seriously

Lucy's in my top 5 characters but without Leo to call on, her strongest spirit, I HIGHLY doubt she would best Freed and Bickslow in this point in the shoe. Don't forget that Bickslow's got secondary magic in his eyes which literally allows him to possess people's souls, and Freed... Freed's another kind of monster altogether at this point in the story
